Barcelona in the rain. Either way it’s a really cool place and I met some pretty sweet people there. I also met a man who insisted I was Moroccan and seemed to find it amusing that I denied it! Expensive, but worth it. The outside looks like a sandcastle, but the inside is tall, elegant, and full of light and movement. I was completely entranced. The route I took towards the old town was eerily similar to East Hastings in Vancouver and I probably contracted just a few diseases by walking through it. Once I escaped the customary awful train station neighbourhood (every city has one, let’s face it) I was in the old town, which felt like being in a video game. J’adore the south of France! After my delightful night train experience from Naples, I spent 3 nights in Nice. As I was checking into my hostel I met Iris, from Edmonton, and joined and two other girls in Monaco for the day. It was full of beautiful people and beautiful cars, just as expected! So, 85 weeks in, I’ve observed quite a few tourists and I’m still baffled by some of their quirks. Yes, I know, I am also a tourist, but I’m talking about a certain breed of tourist. These are the people that walk around fully equipped to see a city: fanny pack, camera, sometimes even a water bottle attached to a lanyard with a hole in it. Thursday, February 5, 2015. This Christmas, I introduced two new members to my photography collection. First, I would like you to meet my new tripod, in all of its carbon fiber glory. I have been wanting a tripod for a long time, ever since the last one that I stole from my parent's ancient camcorder broke. And it's carbon fiber! What's not to love about that? Mmm Jaguar F-Type. I need to fit one of these in my garage. The crackle that comes from the exhaust. During a downshift is such a heavenly sound).
