Outlines of a Concrete Drawing. Sculpture, 2009. Concrete plywood. 188 x 311 x 228 and 283 x 495 x 349 cm. Perspective lines connect two heavy elements to each other. The outlines of a formwork for a flipped truck are diving into the ground, and the concrete inside the formwork merges with the floor. My view is a vehicle across the room you are soon standing on.

Sculpture, 2010. Wood, gloss paint, chrome, acrylic marker, graphite powder, pencils. 79 x 80 x 22 cm. The glorification of violence, a feeling of power and safety, distanced between realities, laced in harmony against the wall. Within arm's reach I can protect my ideas, or fire at will. The machineguns are loaded with pencils, graphite and acrylic ink and provide me an opportunity to draw with a constant flow.

Friday, May 16, 2014. For the exhibition NO SUCH POWER Anami Schrijvers went to the Kilauea on Hawaii; one of the most active volcanoes on earth. Since 1983 the Pu'u O'o, a side vent of the volcano, has been in a constant state of eruption feeding a 60 square kilometre flow system. In the midst of this landscape, Schrijvers has made a cast using the flowing lava as sculptural material. Opening Saturday 24 May, 20h00. Exhibition open from 29 May until 22 June. Thursday until Sunday from 12h00 – 18h00.
