Alex's corner

Friday, May 30, 2008. Where did April go? I'm starting to believe that April got carried away with finals and all those papers. So now I'm rushing to update this blog while May is still around. Many and few things happened. Depends on how you look at them. The best part is that I get to see the sunrise every morning on my way to work, and what great shows I get, with sheep-look-alike clouds and golden rays and a good number of down-to-earth tall trees that whisper their leaves in the morning light. Alex's corner: March 2008

http://www.alexwriting.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 19, 2008. It's been raining for a couple days now in Pittsburgh. Nothing surprising, for two reasons: it's that time of the year and - folks - it is. Other than that, not too much. Busy as usual, so it's nothing to be writing here about. Reading news and working on projects. Tuesday, March 18, 2008. Planner – where is my planner? It’s New York, baby…. Tuesday, January 29, 2008. I say: it’s good to laugh with friends. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I like to think that I can find good things in all things. Kinda stopped finding, lately, with no reason, so I'm taking on this blog to help me restart. It's wonderful to like a little of everything. View my complete profile.

Alex's corner: The groundhog

http://www.alexwriting.blogspot.com/2008/02/groundhog.html

Monday, February 4, 2008. Or the biggest sweet liar. Well, last year he wasn't that sweet. But that's a story for long winters, and now spring is coming. Right? The groundhog saw its shadow. so they say another six weeks of winter are on their way. but I say it's going to be exactly the opposite of that, since last year the "big squirrel" announced an early spring and we had the coldest month of the winter afterwards. Let's put the big warm clothes away, spring is on its way! A shot of spring.

Alex's corner: February 2008

http://www.alexwriting.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 11, 2008. A shot of spring. The sun has a different light, the air - a different quality. It's still below freezing, but spring is definitely on its way. I can feel it in my dreams, in my thoughts, in my renewed energy. I found myself staring into thin air and dreaming about anything that crossed my mind on the bus today. Got off a little dizzy of too much imagination unleashed. It's clear: spring is coming. Open your hearts to the sun. Monday, February 4, 2008. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

HIGHLY OPINIONATED, LIKE ALL REVIEWS SHOULD BE. Wednesday, January 22, 2014. The Rolling Stones: Metamorphosis (1975). Beyond the obvious inspiration from Kafka, this album cover is unique in that it is only one of two Rolling Stones albums that depict both Mick Taylor (bottom left) and Brian Jones (bottom right), though they were not in the band at the same time. The other is Rolled Gold: The Very Best of The Rolling Stones. Released that same year. All this without even really talking about the content.

A Year Away | Perugia, Italy —> Norwich, England

Perugia, Italy — Norwich, England. All About Those Old English Buildings. May 4, 2015. May 26, 2015. Looks pretty, right? I’m at the Norwich Cathedral with friends. I’ve been before, but this is the first time I’ve had a tour of the medieval graffiti in the building. A man who works at the church shines a light on a two circles with even, curved lines like flower petals. They look like the Gaiam logo on my yoga mat. Back in March, I visited Cambridge. The common advice on this front is: if you’re cru...

Thoughts in the shape of words. February 8, 2015. It’s there right now. Can you feel it? Can you let it touch you? Living for the now. Obsessed with the current. Is this the right way? Is this how it’s supposed to be? Don’t dwell on the future. Will what’s to be always stay veiled? Will what was keep you locked down? Let the moment touch you. Embrace those which are near. Perhaps what’s gone is gone? Perhaps that veil shall never be lifted? What can this moment bring you? January 29, 2015. I leave my hope.
