I'm sure there have been many versions of this for since the day google decided to make it a webservice, but I just discovered Gmap Pedometer. You can arbitrarily create routes on a map and save them for later. As an example here is the route we'll take to gasworks tommorrow: http:/ www.gmap-pedometer.com/? You have a full fledged monetizable site. Though monetizing and cred are at odds with each other.

A number of trips to the nebulous 'out of town' area and a placid wall of e-silence left Team Red with only 5 players.
