Suffolk's mild winters ensure that we are one of the first regions to produce 'Poly' carrots, starting at the beginning of june. Poly carrots are grown under polythene sheeting that acts as both an insulator and a mini greenhouse. this tricks the plant into thinking that it is warmer than it actually is and allows us to produce an earlier crop, thus again helping to reduce the need for imported carrots.
