I'm writing this whilst sitting on the veranda having consumed more great sardines accompanied by a large Sagres. The beach below is quiet and the sea crystal clear. I'm convinced you hardly need any clothes in this climate. You put less on, go in the sun, jump in the shower with them on, wash them whilst in the shower, "peg out", put them on the next day. Monday, 31 December 2007. We'd arrived.so where can we stay? We walked down the narrow cobbled streets towards the sea. As we got closer to the surf the streets opened out to reveal a gorgeous beach and bay. Up to our left was a Hotel. We checked in for three nights but ended up staying ten. Friday, 28 December 2007. Sunday, 10 May 2009. So what of the hotel? We went back to the hotel many times and each time could not understand why it was always so quiet. For us this was great, a pool to ourselves, (a floor to ourselves! Sure enough the hotel is closed, was taken over, is open again, but there are plans. Not sure I agree with the scale of the proposal. We now stay in an appartment whose view would be blocked if this development was granted permission at the proposed height.
