Crow King and Crazed Arsonists | Melissa Findley Art

Fantasy Art and Illustration. Crow King and Crazed Arsonists. April 27, 2010. Just realized it’s been too long since I updated last, and I do have new work to show. First, I want to point out that one of my cards for Fantasy Flight Games’ “Call of Cthulu: the Yuggoth Contract” was featured in an article a few weeks ago, and I totally suck for not mentioning it until now. You can check it out here: (it’s the “Crazed Arsonist” card). Attending the Crow King. From → Art. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. 039;Stop...

A hundred dance moves per minute: Tall comics
http://sgrblog.blogspot.com/2013/07/tall-comics.html
My comics: Bad Machinery. Friday, July 05, 2013. The change of format feels right as well because Bad Machinery is about characters who are getting older with each case, and as they get older, the nature of the comic will change. The adventures of 11 year olds are distinct from what 14 year olds would get up to. I think there's room to make these changes, and define the cases from number 7 onwards differently. Posted by John A. Case 6 was a triumph. A triumph, I tell you! 7:50 PM, July 07, 2013. Also, co...

A hundred dance moves per minute: He found in the world without as actual what was in his world within as possible

My comics: Bad Machinery. Thursday, April 18, 2013. He found in the world without as actual what was in his world within as possible. Unlocked huge swathes of music for me and encouraged me to compile my own. But it was Scott's writing on loudfamily.com. His writing on music in recent years was arguably, even better. In a field where drift and posture often stand in lieu of knowledge and perspective, he made the rare distinction of having both. Posted by John A. 4:03 PM, April 18, 2013.

A hundred dance moves per minute: August 2013
http://sgrblog.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
My comics: Bad Machinery. Tuesday, August 20, 2013. Manga Studio 5 EX - first impressions. Manga Studio 5 EX was released last week and, having used version 4 EX ( which I reviewed here for MacWorld. MS5 EX isn't really an upgrade. It's a completely different program. Earlier versions were a westernised version of Celsys Comic Studio. The new version is a different program - Clip Studio. 3 Instead of numerical sliders to change settings, some options are represented by a series of slightly different grey...

A hundred dance moves per minute: March 2013
http://sgrblog.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
My comics: Bad Machinery. Thursday, March 14, 2013. If you feel like posting "I preferred the original," oh, go right ahead. I don't mind. Posted by John A. Links to this post. Monday, March 04, 2013. A few years later, we have Tumblr. There are people who put all their work up on Tumblr, and don't put it anywhere else. It's so easy! Art isn't democratic. It doesn't take place in a caring, sharing environment. It is a huge "look at me". We are the pre-schoolers who can still point at what we'...I would n...

A hundred dance moves per minute: July 2012
http://sgrblog.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
My comics: Bad Machinery. Wednesday, July 25, 2012. The difference between a tshirt selling and not selling is whether it makes a statement about the wearer. It doesn't matter how good the drawing on it is, or how clever the words you put on it, that won't make it sell. Below is a good example of something that makes people laugh but that I don't think says anything about the wearer that they could explain to anyone who asked. Posted by John A. Links to this post. Of brass, bronze, and bone]. A day-to-day documentation of the process and life behind Kaz's suit of armour. Tuesday, March 30, 2010. I started shaping the pauldrons and got one of them ready to rivet together, when I realised I would need to somehow attach a leather strap (which connects them to the mantle). so, I quickly made up a bracket out of scrap bronze before I could attach the two pieces of pauldron together and make it exponentially harder to attach a strap later. Well, hello there.
