Thursday, 9 June 2011. The city of God. Day 13 - Varanasi. Ok, so today having arrived in and had recovery time from the train, we set off for our sunset boat ride on the Ganges. I thought Delhi was hectic. This was until I came to Varanasi. It was so busy, I could barely cope. Horns, noise, people, cattle, people hassling us. Mental. Got down to the river and it was already crammed with people. We had a nice little wooden rowing boat with bamboo cane oars (Dad you would have liked it! Day 14 - Varanasi.

The cinema we went to is like a theatre, opulant inside and really beautiful with mirrors, chanderliers and beautiful wall decoration. The film lasted three hours long, but popcorn only cost 25 rs (about 40p) so I was very happy! Day six - Abhaneri - rural village. In the evening we went on a camel ride through the village.
