Is there a more perfect and glorious place than Seattle in the Summer? Last weekend I rode the ferry from Seattle over to Bremerton to watch a movie at the Drive-In. My sibs were coming and bringing their kids, I was so excited- I even made kettle corn the night before. But guess what? Trick, Not Treat. Today, in an unexpected effort to be organized this school year for once, I labeled all my classroom drawers so the kids can find stuff. The drawer missing its pull handle, between the drawers for safety glasses and colored pencils, has been labeled "emergency chocolate". I love this. Mwahahaha. Wednesday, August 27, 2014. Oh, our beloved Perseid meteor shower is almost here. And this year there's no moon to contend with, which is an excellent situation. So get outside and watch this thing! Best time to watch:. The waning crescent will rise right before dawn so no moonlight will be interrupting our chance to see the dimmer meteors. 50-100 meteors per hour, depending on how dark the skies where you are are. (double word points) The meteors from the Perseids show are usually fast and bright so they're really fun to watch.
