Alison's Adventures in Cambodia

Alison's Adventures in Cambodia. Saturday, December 01, 2007. I've been back in Blighty for nearly 2 weeks now, and already the previous 26 months seem like a distant dream! I have had the most amazing time in Cambodia, and I feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to live and work in such an interesting and welcoming place. Overall it has been a fabulous experience for me, and hopefully I've done some good for the people there. Posted by Alison's Adventures @ 3:00 PM. The Foreign Office and pop...

Alison's Adventures in Cambodia: What a difference .....a border makes

http://alisonincambodia.blogspot.com/2007/10/what-difference-border-makes.html

Alison's Adventures in Cambodia. Thursday, October 25, 2007. What a difference .a border makes. I'm in culture shock! There's a Dunkin' Donuts and Boots on every corner, and even Tescos has come to town. It's sad to see that some of the more charming, traditional ways of living are changing, but there's no doubt that Thailand is no longer a developing country. Alison's Adventures in Cambodia: Changes in Chiang Mai

http://alisonincambodia.blogspot.com/2007/11/changes-in-chiang-mai.html

Alison's Adventures in Cambodia. Sunday, November 11, 2007. Changes in Chiang Mai. I've spent the last week in the north of Thailand, mainly based in Chiang Mai. The city has sprawled beyond my 17-year-ago recognition, and is now full of traffic and noise. However, I stayed at a very friendly guest house and had a good time, hiring a motorbike to get out to sights in the lovely surrounding countryside, including to an umbrella making village and to a wat on top of Doi Suthep hill. Alison's Adventures in Cambodia: March 2006

Alison's Adventures in Cambodia. Saturday, March 25, 2006. Team development with VSO. VSO is very keen on getting volunteers to support each other, and to this end it organises regular workshops for us to share ideas and experiences. For me, it is great to be able to meet up with friends, talk English and spend a bit of time in Phnom Penh with its Western luxuries and air con! Posted by Alison's Adventures @ 1:30 AM. Alison's Adventures in Cambodia: Leaving the Thom

http://alisonincambodia.blogspot.com/2007/10/leaving-thom.html

Alison's Adventures in Cambodia. Thursday, October 25, 2007. Kompong Thom is now no longer my home, and I'm not sure if I'll ever get back there again. My last week was spent packing, throwing out and giving away my things; I had accumulated an amazing amount of "stuff" over the last two years. Two recent Barang arrivals to Kompong Thom took a lot of my big things by motorbike truck to their house. Now I'm left wondering if the last two years really happened! Alison's Adventures in Cambodia: February 2006

http://alisonincambodia.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html

Alison's Adventures in Cambodia. Saturday, February 18, 2006. Capacity Building in Cambodia. Everyone talks about Capacity Building out here, even Cambodian people who don’t speak English! My role at CoDeC is to help build the capacity of the staff. In turn, the staff aim to build the capacity of poor rural villagers. The main way that CoDeC tries to build villager capacity is through holding endless workshops for them! Posted by Alison's Adventures @ 2:20 AM. Wednesday, February 01, 2006. Consequently, ...

I am now graduating from University with a degree in Primary education, with just another 3 months of placement before qualified teacher status, fingers crossed this time. Anyway, good night world. Friday, November 13, 2009. Last week I was unable to attend the lecture as I was in Lapland having a lovely time. Since I have been back I have started work on l...
