Yes by Kat Selkirk - Awaken Magazine

There is a yes. A lurking seed in the heart, urging us to do illogical, dangerous things. When it gets the better of us, anything could happen. Some jump from airplanes, climb mountains, drive fast cars, or fall in love. For a moment their heart throbs with the joy of risk. But it fades. We ache: for beauty, danger, and the risk of love. We watch their shadows on screens and stages. We grasp, as they slip through our fingers: they are not for sale. The homeless man who walked by the sea singing, Come!

Erika – No BS.

Life with you is half as hard, and twice as good. Where to Stand When Your Body’s Public Property. It’s been three weeks since I realized I hadn’t checked in 6 months, and then found a lump where nobody wants to find one –. Two weeks since my (quiet, gracious) doctor pulled out a ruler and gave me The Look, because I should know better –. Two weeks of high-strength antibiotics that actually weren’t that bad –. You have just had a breast biopsy. No hot baths…. No long hot showers…. 8220;Sometimes we can t...

The Footsteps of Paul Blog. A Walk Through the 7 Churches – Smyrna. May 31st, 2012. Photo (Chris D.) Ancient sepulcher, Asia Minor (Turkey). Issue #17 – Faithful to the point of death. To grasp an understanding of the significance of these messages to the seven churches, I find it is extremely important to continually refer back to John’s vision of the Lord in Chapter one. In the message to the church of Smyrna he says,. And I hold the keys of death and Hades. Revelation 1:17-18. In other words He says M...

OHANA: Hope
http://hopefuljourneyof4.blogspot.com/2013/02/hope.html
Ohana" is a common phrase around here . nobody gets left behind. We met. We fell in love. We married. We had a baby girl. We had another baby girl. Story short . this is where we are. Tuesday, February 26, 2013. Gather around sweet babies. Mama has a story. Why is hindsight 20/20? I wrote about hope over the past year and I thought it was time to put my money where my mouth is. It wasn't a lot of money . just a couple of bucks. But here it is. Now, this is when friends come in handy. I have had the w...

When April ran into May, or the week when Erika was a bad Christian – No BS.
https://twiceasgoodblog.wordpress.com/2014/05/04/when-april-ran-into-may-or-the-week-when-erika-was-a-bad-christian
Life with you is half as hard, and twice as good. When April ran into May, or the week when Erika was a bad Christian. This has been an interesting week. I don’t particularly want to write about it, but I chose this word to live by this year: authentic. And authentic summons up all these other ideas – being relentlessly brave, telling the truth about who I am even when I’d rather present you with a sugar-coated perfect version, living from my heart. Telling the truth in a beautiful way. But I spent no ti...
