He was many things: lacrosse player, surfer, teenager, texter, friend, son and I’m sure much more. He died of a heroin overdose. Yes, heroin. My husband and I were equally shocked last year to learn that his childhood friend had died in a similar manner. Trying to see every corner of the world, one town at a time. I wish I had something exciting to say like, "I found an editor/agent/publisher who can't wait to work with me! Or "The publishing date is xxxx! Or the biggest dream of them all: "They're turning my book into a movie!

I’ve read lots recently about the Transition Towns movement that began in Totnes in Devon, and am really looking forward to a visit there later this year. I think I’m still working out what my own role can be in the building of a resilient community. Will I be digging, teaching, researching or writing? Hopefully, this trip will help me find out.
