https://alissaframe.wordpress.com/2010/07/17/orecchiette-with-cherry-tomatoes-and-mozzarella

The Summer of Nothing New, and Everything from Scratch. Quick Quesadillas →. Orecchiette with Cherry Tomatoes and Mozzarella. July 17, 2010. 1 bag orecchiette (or other richly textured pasta). 2 pints cherry tomatoes, halved. 1 pound mozzarella, diced (don’t work too hard on this- it mostly melts together anyways). Oregano (I use the equivalent of one full container). Chives (again, I use the equivalent of one full container). 8 tbs extra virgin olive oil. Quick Quesadillas →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

The Summer of Nothing New, and Everything from Scratch. Sauteed Asparagus →. July 17, 2010. 3-4 jalapenos, seeded and minced. 1 bunch green onions, thinly sliced (greens only). 2 garlic cloves, minced or crushed. 1/4 tsp black pepper. 3 cups all-purpose flour. 2 tsp baking powder. 1 tsp sea salt. 4-8 oz Manchego cheese. 12oz Mexican beer (I use Presidente, and due to my overuse of cheese, I usually need a little more than 12oz). Strawberry-Rhubarb-Blueberry Pie | The Summer of Nothing New, and Everything from Scratch

https://alissaframe.wordpress.com/2010/07/17/strawberry-rhubarb-blueberry-pie

The Summer of Nothing New, and Everything from Scratch. Hardboiled Eggs →. July 17, 2010. 3/4 tsp sea salt. Mix 1 1/4 C sugar and 3/4 C flour together. Add 3/4 of the sugar/flour mixture to the fruit and mix well. Reserve the rest of the sugar/flour mixture. Combine flour and salt. Cut Crisco into flour. Add water 1 tbs at a time, tossing with a fork after each addition. When the flour, salt, Crisco and water magically become dough (for me, this never happened), divide dough into two balls. Orecchiette w...

A Quandary | The Summer of Nothing New, and Everything from Scratch

https://alissaframe.wordpress.com/2010/07/17/a-quandary

The Summer of Nothing New, and Everything from Scratch. Strawberry-Rhubarb-Blueberry Pie →. July 17, 2010. I recently visited my brother and Jenna in their new house in Irondequoit, New York. I knew before beginning this challenge that I would break my rules to buy them a housewarming gift. So I had no qualms about purchasing a grill, a grill cover, and some grill tools. The resulting grillage was delicious and guilt-free. But what of the challenge? And what of my plans to document the challenge? In the ...

Hardboiled Eggs | The Summer of Nothing New, and Everything from Scratch

https://alissaframe.wordpress.com/2010/07/17/hardboiled-eggs

The Summer of Nothing New, and Everything from Scratch. July 17, 2010. It’s as simple as boiling water. Or is it? Every single person I ask has a different method. I’ve tried them all. Twice. I can’t find a method that gives me an easy-to-peel egg with delicately firm whites and reasonably tasty yolks. I’m done with hardboiled eggs. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Curious

So glad you asked. Your Home Made New. At around 11 am that Tuesday, artist Ana Teresa Fernández set an enormous ladder against the border wall separating Playas. We’re not talking about what we want. We’re not demanding what we want. We’re going out and making it real. What the world needs. Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive. Calling out the water bullies.
