Thursday, June 21, 2012. Log Cabin Euro Shams. A log cabin pattern is a good way to use up scraps or just be able to add a lot of pattern into a project! The front of the pillows are quilted with a light weight batting and backing. The backs of the pillows I added a Home Dec fabric because I just wanted the weight and durability of it. And then for ease of use and cleaning I added an invisible zipper. SO glad I did! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Promote Your Page Too. Free Nutcracker Gift Tags. My sister-i...

Thursday, April 28, 2011. My friend needed some help decorating her daughters room before her twins arrive, so i dusted off my sewing machine ; ). I've had my eye on this. Sham from pottery barn kids. For a while now. this was my chance to make my own version. my kids have already put in their orders for one. so i decided, why not make it into a tutorial! Different ways you can choose to finish the back. Use a zipper (thats what i did on my back). Do a envelope opening on the back. 1 for the front. Lay t...

create: baby keepsake quilt
http://sandrasaunders.blogspot.com/2012/02/babies-keepsake-quilt.html
Wednesday, February 29, 2012. I had the privilege of making a keepsake quilt out of a babies old clothes! It was difficult at first to decide how i was going to use such small clothes on a quilt, but this is what i came up with! I was able to use some of the clothes as a full piece, which i think REALLY gives you a sense of how little that little man really was! I guess that's why it would be easier to get someone else to make it for you : ). I LOVE the free hand piecing in this one! Hope you like it!

Monday, February 28, 2011. Or should i say he. i think if this console table was a sex, it would defiantly be. Male ; ) here's the before pictures. And here's the AFTER. After 4 coats of red, some sanding, some staining and varnishing it's finally finished. i really love the legs and the red. I'm not quite sure how i feel about the doors being stained. i thought it would give the piece a retro vibe but now i'm seeing a countr y one. What do you think? Friday, February 25, 2011. Wednesday, May 11, 2011. I'm working on some custom t-shirt quilts at the moment! Here's just a peek at one of the blocks that will be in the baby boy quilt! I don't want to wreck the surprise for the ladies that i am making these for so i probably won't post any more pictures until they are done. I REALLY like creating these keepsake quilt's. i find that you have to be REALLY creative when your adding fabrics to the clothes and cutting the clothes in a way that will show the BEST! create: machine binding tutorial
http://sandrasaunders.blogspot.com/2009/06/machine-binding-tutorial.html
Monday, June 29, 2009. Machine binding is not the traditional way of binding a quilt, but i'm not a hand sewer so it is my personal favorite. There are many ways to bind a quilt, but this is the way i like to do it:. Wof is an abbreviation for width of fabric and everything but the finishing top stitch is sewn with a 1/4" seam allowance. i like to use a cotton thread for the top thread in my machine. Someones getting the hang of photoshop. June 30, 2009 at 10:24 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Tuesday, October 2, 2012. My Aunt use to make buns filled with cabbage and ground beef. I remember LOVING them. They have now made it into my familys menu! The filling I make tastes REALLY peppery when you eat it on its own but in the bun with sour cream it totally combs it down : ). 1 package ground pork. 2-3 strips of bacon finely chopped (optional). 1/2 head of finely shredded cabbage. A couple dashes of Worcestershire Sauce. A dash of Cayenne Pepper. Salt and lots of Pepper to taste. My husband likes...

create: Cinnamon Buns
http://sandrasaunders.blogspot.com/2012/08/cinnamon-buns.html
Saturday, August 18, 2012. If there is one thing I remember my mom baking growing up it was cinnamon buns. I can remember so vividly the way the butter felt on my hands as I spread it onto the rolled out dough. The sweet smell that came from the oven while they were baking filled our home with warmth and love. And there is nothing like the taste of a fresh bun right out of the oven. YUM! But for this recipe, I'll give you the dough recipe I use just for cinnamon buns. It's my Grandma Thomas's recipe!
