Mommy Wars | A Mountain Momma
https://amountainmomma.wordpress.com/2010/07/02/rippin-mommas-a-new-one
Blogging Up Burnaby Mountain. July 2, 2010. In the last week or so I have come across some especially disturbing instances of moms being ripped a new one online and in the media. Most notably, Kathryn Blundell, who wrote the article. I formula fed. SO WHAT? Where she writes frankly about her choice not to breastfeed and the reasons why. Ms Blundell has responded. To these comments on the magazines website stating:. People need to lighten up. Are we really going to attack this woman because she chose ...

Tired | A Mountain Momma
https://amountainmomma.wordpress.com/2010/10/01/tired
Blogging Up Burnaby Mountain. October 1, 2010. So, its been a month and I have been to the gym every Mon, Weds, and Fri. I am so glad I have been able to get up the gumption to go, but I am so damn tired the rest of the time I haven’t had the energy to put away laundry, shave my legs, or write much in the way of anything. I have been reading a lot though. I just finished Julie Buxbaum’s. I am hoping this whole ‘gym’ thing continues, I just hope I find more time to sit down and write. So proud of you!

Captain Klutz… | A Mountain Momma
https://amountainmomma.wordpress.com/2010/08/19/how-can-you-mend-a-broken-heart-or-toe
Blogging Up Burnaby Mountain. August 19, 2010. I have a bit of a reputation for being a klutz. Personally, I think my radar is just a little off at times and I tend to bash into things. Up until now my radar-deficient-follies have been relatively innocuous, until last night. I broke one of my baby toes by stubbing it on the couch. I hate that couch. Perhaps I will even get a little writing done and find something more interesting than my feet to blog about. Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). Enter ...

Blogging Up Burnaby Mountain. Rapture of a Playboy: Redux 1-4. A circle lined with stars. Woman shakes her booty. Feel my power sucking forth. The sweat on your forehead,. The lust in your glassy eyes. I must suck you up. For you have emptied me. See me naked in front of you,. Smile on my face,. Blood on your hands. Vietnam burns hot,. Oozing humanity in the confusion. While you only feel the fire in your belly. In the missiles lining the stage. That hark how strong you are. That I am here to serve you.

The Last Summer | A Mountain Momma

Blogging Up Burnaby Mountain. Here is the first section of my piece. Lord liftin dyin they picked a bad spot to settle. Those poor kids would spend all day fightin off the black flies and all night itchin the pain away. Farm was way too big anyway, ended up sellin off the backfields to that old arsehole Gordie McEwen, like he doesn’t own enough of PEI already. To set eyes on this place is to spot a legend, so you best look hard. Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). Click to email (Opens in new window).

I like to write letters…. | A Mountain Momma
https://amountainmomma.wordpress.com/2010/08/30/i-like-to-write-letters
Blogging Up Burnaby Mountain. August 30, 2010. I like to write letters…. So, when something really irritates me I feel the need to share. I wrote two letters this week. One to my Mayor, the city council, and five media outlets regarding the shocking response time of paramedics to two emergency situations in my neighbourhood this week. I have yet to receive any response. Humph. The second letter I wrote was sent to Women’s Day magazine and Summer’s Eve regarding the ad discussed here. And oh, here. CB Fle...

Blogging Up Burnaby Mountain. August 25, 2010. I’m a Bitch, I’m a Mother…. I have many alter-egos percolating. Beneath this unpolished exterior of. To a large degree they have been. Absorbed, pushed aside, and filed away for another day. There are some I’m glad to see gone. Never did me any favours,. Was a dummy, and The Sassy Single Sally. Was just plain sad and lonely. However, some have survived the melding and bubble more wildly than the rest. Likes to come out and play and. For my final course at SFU.

Blogging Up Burnaby Mountain. June 29, 2010. The Show Must Go On! As I drove home from my solo outing. This past weekend, I tuned into the weekly edition of DNTO. Definitely Not The Opera on CBC Radio One. This is one of my favourite programs and I was overjoyed I was able to listen without having to tune out crying or cute toddler chatter. The topic this week was The Show Must Go On! Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Tags: CBC Radio One. Enter your...
