a little gentian: February 2015
http://alittlegentian.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Rare Pear Studio artist Shani Nottingham. The symmetrical garden at the front complements the original architecture of the home, more than 100 years old. Shani's love of nature and plants is reflected in her work. Photography: Shani Nottingham. Tell us about your garden. My garden is a total work in progress! I do far more in my head than in reality. But it means that when I do get into it, I really appreciate the experience, and I know exactly what needs to be done. We will b...
a little gentian: June 2015
http://alittlegentian.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 14, 2015. Designer and photographer Matt O'Sullivan. Gardening is very much a family affair. And Zoé has also taken up the cause, spending much of her time helping tend the plants, not to mention picking and tasting the produce. Of course, for the creative couple, seeing their little girl tuck into something she has picked from the garden, makes the effort all worthwhile. An eclectic mix of pots is home to seedlings and herbs. Photography: Matt O'Sullivan. What is the story of your garden?

Thursday, August 20, 2015. Clare with one of her beloved chickens. A wonderful medley of plants captures the sun. Photography: Clare James. Clare's work is inspired by the garden around her. Photography: Clare James. Tell us about yourself. My garden is my favorite place in the world to be and I take photos everyday of little wonders happening in it. What is the story of your garden? My husband, Mark, and I bought our one third of an acre, with our little old house on it, eight years ago. The backyar...

Natalie's Sketchbook: October 2014
http://nataliesketchbook.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 26, 2014. I took these photos at one of the local gardens that will be featured on the Saturday. I love the colour palette of reds, purples, yellows and whites, and those poppies were stunning in real life. I remember this house from my high school days - back then it was rented by a few young P.E and Maths teachers and featured waist height grass and a couple of scraggly pepper trees! Natalie's Sketchbook: Shades of Autumn
http://nataliesketchbook.blogspot.com/2015/04/shades-of-autumn.html
Monday, April 13, 2015. Here are some photos from around the garden and farm yard today. Hopefully a few rainclouds will venture over this part of Northern Victoria soon! A few more guinea fowl have been added to the flock over the past few months. They are loving the grasshoppers in the neighbouring paddocks. Autumn burn-offs are happening all around in preparation for the sowing of winter crops. Monday, April 13, 2015. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Interview with Jackie Shapiro of French Bull.

Natalie's Sketchbook: September 2014
http://nataliesketchbook.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 4, 2014. The bush in bloom. Over the next few months the Box-Ironbark forest around Rushworth, Whroo and Gobarup puts on a wonderful and ever-changing display of wildflowers. The jet black, fluted trunks of ironbark, rising like columns from quartzy ground provide an attractive contrast to the many colourfully flowering shrubs such as Grevillea. Species - and a wealth of terrestrial orchids. Time to get the sketchbook out! Rosy Heath-myrtle Baeckea ramosissima. Links to this post.

Natalie's Sketchbook: Colour inspiration from the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show
http://nataliesketchbook.blogspot.com/2015/03/colour-inspiration-from-melbourne.html
Sunday, March 29, 2015. Colour inspiration from the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. I have well and truly stocked up on spring bulbs after visiting the very busy Flower and Garden Show, now I just need a few spare moments to get them planted into the garden! This pretty palette of colours might be something to consider for next summer / autumn plantings. The Yates Garden stand featured an impressive mix of native and exotic plantings. Another great colour palette to consider too. Colour i...
