Progress Weekend February 6-8. February 9, 2015. Middot; Add Comment. The last couple of weekends saw a flurry of kit orders so I didn’t make any progress on the current projects. This was only made worse by losing 2-1/2 days to rainresin doesn’t react well to moisture in the air. First off, be sure to check out the newest project write-up. For the samurai mempo. There’s also a kit. Tagged with →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Your email address will not be published. Required fields are marked *.

Progress Weekend August 12-14. August 17, 2016. Middot; Add Comment. I was just about to mold my Simpsons Alan Moore figure when I decided to separate the arms so they could be posed. I cut a steel rod to make posts. Next weekend I can mold him! My friend Paul needed a stand for his 47 Ronin armor and found this image on the web. I [.]. Read Full Article →. Progress Update May 11. May 14, 2015. I’ll spare you the excuses as to why I’ve not been posting and just show you the current progress! I’m in the process of moving my collection into a new, bigger room in the house and was reminded that they never came out with a Cotton Hill figure for the King of the Hill action figure line. During lunch hour over the course of a few weeks, I sculpted Cotton in Strata 3D. I had not printed anything in the Shapeways Sandstone texture. He killed fitty men, you know.

Blind Squirrel Props | Progress Weekend Jan 23-25

Progress Weekend Jan 23-25. January 28, 2015. Middot; Add Comment. My friend Paul bought some horse hair to add a mustache to his mempo. After drilling mounting holes in the mempo, I threaded a small bunch (as much as would fit) of hair through to the inside. I mixed up some plumber’s epoxy putty to encase the end on the hair. I like that the plumber’s epoxy cures in 5 minutes. ApoxieSculpt is easier to control and sculpt but that hour cure makes it tough to use. I guess that’s the point, right? It fits ...

Blind Squirrel Props | Star Wars: Stormtrooper Blastech E-11
http://blindsquirrelprops.com/star-wars-stormtrooper-blastech-e-11
Star Wars: Stormtrooper Blastech E-11. This replica of the “Return of the Jedi”-era Imperial Stormtrooper Blaster is entirely handmade from PVC pipe (all tubular elements) and styrene plastic, the exception is a resin pistol grip. If you want to build one, go to the Blaster Builders Club. The stand was made with sheet styrene. I tried out a new weathering technique by first painting silver as a base coat. Then I took mustard (yes, the condiment! The sight rail is made by sandwiching 11(? I started buildi...

Progress Weekend December 27-31. January 1, 2014. I had a little time off because of the Holidays so I was able to make more progress on the Toy Story Robot. Happy New Year, BTW. After adding the second layer to the eyes, I made a mold. I’m still waiting for the clear resinany day now! I glued the back onto the torso of my prototype copt. It’s very helpful to do a dry run on this copy before tackling the clients’ robots. I cut copper 1/2″ pipe sections for the biceps. I filed the ends smooth an...The cop...

It’s BSP’s 10th Anniversary! March 26, 2015. Middot; Add Comment. Ten years ago today, I posted the results of my very first prop build on my original blog My Dumb Projects. That initial endevour was a replica Stormtrooper Blaster rifle. That I cobbled together at my desk over the course of many, many lunch hours. Somehow, a decade later, and I’ve racked up over 100 builds. I have no clue how that happened. To help mark the occasion, every kit. Will be 20% off through midnight Sunday, March 29th. Get eve...
