http://ho-harbor.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 21, 2011. A weekend set-up with the modules. Over the previous weekend I hauled my modules up to Boone NC to set up the modules with most of the guys I build modules with. I took photos of 4 locations on the layout for use in a image stacking program and here are the results. Here is a good example of what can be done with some of the. Brand scenery products. The overgrown area between the tracks is a blend of. Buffalo grass tuffts and. I added some tall grasses (. The cement storage...

What is N Scale. HO Scale Modular Layout. What is O Guage and O Scale? We have been active in area shows and setups on our own just to run. We have been most fortunate to be on the receiving end of some modules graciously donated by the N-Crowd from Houston and some of their members (Ron is a charter member). They are in the process of completing a layout at Papa Ben’s and moving away from N-Trak standards. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Your email address will not be published. Required fields are marked *.

Waterfront modules: November 2011

Wednesday, November 9, 2011. The concrete mixing plant part 3. Above is the structure assembled with only a few pipes left to add. The original Walthers structure had a closed storage bin with a number of pipes leading to the roof. I chose to remove the roof and add a home-made gravel distributing mechanism. The brace in front will hold up the conveyor structure. Here is an idea of how the whole structure will look minus the additional supports for the conveyor. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Waterfront modules: December 2011
http://ho-harbor.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 25, 2011. The image above shows how the PVC pipe fits up the top of the model. I wrapped masking tape around the ends of the model to reinforce it while I was repeatedly test fitting the tube. The tape will be removed later. The ring here is made of two layers of balsa wood glued crosswise for some strength. I'm only using it as a spacer at the bottom the the stack to keep the tube mostly centered . I used an adhesive laytex caulk the secure the spacer ring and tube into the model. Subsc...

Waterfront modules: Metro Concrete Company
http://ho-harbor.blogspot.com/2014/12/metro-concrete-company.html
Saturday, December 27, 2014. I have decided to name the cement mixing company on the Waterfront scene "Metro Concrete", and I needed a title for this post, so there it is. There will be a large model train show in Raleigh next month put on by "Worlds Greatest Hobby" on tour. And since my modules will be in a layout at the show I needed to get off my ass and get stuff done. Lastly, I want to be able to park a minimum of three covered hoppers on the siding, with one of them parked in the covered shed.

Saturday, January 10, 2015. Metro Concrete Company Part II. The last leg of ladder has yet to be installed. That will come after I attach the silo top. The top will have a railing around the perimeter. Next to do is top railing, some exterior lighting and final assembly then primer. The unloading shed was painted primer grey inside and out. A non-working light fixture will be attached just above the railcar doorway. Next for this is weathering and signage. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
