My dad had packed up the back of the car like we were going somewhere, but why my food? Bowls and my leash on the clanging collar too? It was a smooth journey, no bad language in the car, music was great, and Dad only talked on the phone once, but I didn't really understand what he was saying, sounded like we had an appointment. She's almost as old as me.

If she and I slept in snow, we'd both do fine. I don't think Bella would, she's practically bare, compared to us! A couple of times, but nicely. I guess that means no sofa, yet. I think I'll pass on the car for a bit. We may not need to go anywhere anyway. It used to pay to hang in the kitchen! I'm an opportunist, and this is the time!

Brothers Stuart and Jamie Dean and their aunt Denise Peel, 38, had undergone surgery to have their thyroid glands removed after being diagnosed as having multiple endocrine neoplasia.
