One of our goals on this trip is to travel the Birdsville Track from Marree to Birdsville (if the weather is kind). We'll head across to the Flinders Ranges in S.A. and then north to Marree. From there it will be 575 kilometers of dirt road to Birdsville. After Birdsville we'll take another look at Queensland. Index and map page.

Winter 2008 - KAKADU - NORTHERN TERRITORY. Around town I've found my new Land Cruiser 200 series Twin Turbo V8 diesel uses just under 13 litres of diesel for every 100 Klms. This winter will be my first trip using diesel. Fuel consumption whilst towing the caravan, will be interesting. If I never return, it will be because we cannot afford to buy the fuel to get home again :-). We have 360 ah of battery storage which is topped up in the bush by 400 watts of solar panels. Our trip starts on 14th May 2008.
