Thursday, July 16, 2009. Here are various buildings on the outskirts of Kuwait City. Lots of wires here. Very hazardous for helicopter pilots. A Kuwaiti doctor and his wife, who also works at the hospital. The famous towers of Kuwait City, and a park and boat yard along the shoreline. Kuwait is on the Arabian Sea. And here it is! If you look at the dark areas of the ocean, those are schools of fish, each about 4" long. We went to TGI Friday's for lunch. It was very good! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Tuesday, July 14, 2009. Here are a bunch of photos Laura just sent from when they were leaving FL for MS. The send off from Florida. The family members all said goodbye before we loaded up the busses to go away for a year. The last thing we did before boarding the busses, was draw our weapons. The enlisted and non-aviator officers drew M16s. The senior enlisted drew 9M. The aviators drew M4s and 9Ms. You can see my 9M in its holster at my waist. The M4 is slung over my shoulder. Kuwait: hold the pickles.

Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Today we had to throw simulated grenades through the windows of this building. We aimed for the big windows. Then if we made that, for bragging rights, we then aimed for the tiny windows. (By tiny, I mean the little one UNDER the big one! About half the guys made it into the big window. No one made the small window. A young female private tried, and couldn't even hit the building. Of course, the pressure is on to save face, as about 50 guys are standing there, watching. Greetings...

Wednesday, June 24, 2009. So Laura has been in Kuwait for a couple of weeks.she snagged a cell phone almost immediately from a soldier that is heading home. She finally has private quarters, a welcome relief after two months in the barracks! The weather is HOT.110 with sandstorms which look like this:.
