What is a geocaching trail? Encompassing ten northwestern Pennsylvania counties, the Allegheny GeoTrail will take geocachers through the beautiful wilds of Allegheny National Forest and its gateway regions. The ten participating counties are: Cameron, Clarion, Crawford, Elk, Forest, Jefferson, McKean, Potter, Venango, and Warren. Each county features between 10 and 20 official AGT caches. What is a geocaching trail? All geocaches are officially registered with www.geocaching.com. You will need to be registered on geocaching.com. To retrieve the coordinates and other location information. Registration on geocaching.com is free. Before setting out to find the caches, you will need an official passport. Booklet. Passports are free and can be obtained at any of the listed Allegheny GeoTrail validation locations. The next person who finds the cache is going to need it!

Sunday, March 15, 2009. Originally uploaded by JandN93. Catman's Log" Find #84 found on 03/07/09. Ah, a regular size cache to look for. A nice change for the day of micros! Anyway, just off the Allegany River Trail in Olean, this was a quick find. N spotted just as they were walking off the trail on a well worn path. Since it was such a wet day, we didn't do any swag trading, we just signed the log and moved on. BUT, this find really made us want to get back out in the woods geocaching!
