http://thisiswednesday.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Oct 9, 2012. On Hoarding, Quicksand, Grace and Writing. My dining room table is covered with half-read newspapers, books, unopened mail, notes and that Sunday School project prototype I'm gluing. There's a stack of cookbooks on the floor and a pile of unshelved CD's in the corner. The desk is scattered with receipts needing to be organized. Littering the floor. Are enough cat and dog toys. To make someone think a toddler lives here. Ack, I should be on an episode of "Hoarders.". I am scared. I am pro...

Mar 7, 2014. Guest Post: Julie Lynn Parson Hoepfer and a Lesson of Love. The Delaware Bay at Lewes Beach circa 1964. I know I've been away awhile. It's been a difficult six weeks. Gratefully, my mother's house sold quickly. The long and arduous process of emptying the house finally come to an end. Now for the downside: I now have so many more. Boxes to add to my sorting process. The silver lining in this may be the stories to be told and the lessons to be learned as I empty them. There's a Hole in my Sole.

This is Wednesday: Day 8: How I stopped Worrying and Learned to Love the Entire Color Wheel

Jan 17, 2014. Day 8: How I stopped Worrying and Learned to Love the Entire Color Wheel. Leather jacket. For my own safety I steered clear of brown and yellow and orange and sometimes green. There is just no telling what they might convince me to do. I was warned about the dangers of bad boy colors as a young woman, when my father disapproved of a green sweater I wore.* Fearing that as I aged I might become wild and out of control adorned with gold and olive, an intervention was arranged. To further prote...

Jan 1, 2013. The Feast of the Holy Innocents. A sound pierces my revery. Somewhere downstairs, unheard by human ears, my cell phone is ringing. "She Who Must be Walked" is matching the unanswered phone's ring with an ever rising mournful howl. Not to be left out, the "Cat Alarm" joins the chorus with indignant "meows" adding to her scratches on the bathroom door. Ah, just another morning at my house. As opposed to be just an Innocent? You had to ask this! I think to my myself. This. I occupy myself with ...

Apr 23, 2013. Central Africa's Only Orchestra: Playing Beethoven in Kinshasa - SPIEGEL ONLINE. Every now and then I need a reality check. Most of the time I am fairly optimistic, but there are times when I get so caught up in my own world, thinking that my financial struggles are so difficult, that my house needs so many repairs, that there are so many things I need (or want). I didn't see this one coming. I had replaced a windshield in a previous car and it didn't cost me a cent. I can go on like this f...
