Chicago - based artist Ken Golub works with found objects and simple compositions of cast off "junk" to create sculptures for small urban spaces. Some would call his artwork "naive". But Golub is no sucker, and the work is informed by his academic training in landscape architecture as well as working in graphic arts. If you are a gallery or a dealer or just a collector contact Kenny. Recent Work of Summer 2010. Bedroom Spires: August 2014. Links to this post. Street Legal: August 2014. Links to this post.

Rarenest: You Can See It From Space.

http://rarenest.blogspot.com/2006/11/you-can-see-it-from-space.html

Sunday, November 26, 2006. You Can See It From Space. I went for a walk/run/ride today to work off some of the gravy and pecan pie and started in the Forest Preserves which was lovely until I got to this area. The Desplaines River divides Maywood and River Forest and borders a beautiful preserve of indigenous oak savanah. And it looks like at least one municipality dumped a bunch of old light poles. Rarenest: MERRY KITSCHMAS: MY PRESENT

http://rarenest.blogspot.com/2007/11/merry-kitschmas-my-present.html

Thursday, November 29, 2007. MERRY KITSCHMAS: MY PRESENT. These are actual current or recent Christmas ornament offerred by lovely people on the largest internet auction site in the world. This is a virtual installation piece that I've wanted to do for the last couple of years. The thing that spurred me on was the recent 23 million dollar. Koons appropriated this design from another designer and then Jeff made it big. Whoop. I'm giving it away! The text in gold. Is my narative. The text in white. They si...

Rarenest: July 2007

http://rarenest.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html

Monday, July 30, 2007. Damien Hirst's Memento Mori. Can the size difference be attributed to nutrition? I hesitate to start a rant about values, culture, the decline of all civilization. It would only lead to a profound sadness about Lindsay Lohan and the Salton Sea. I predict there will be limited general interest in Hirst's latest work and I don't want to feed any scrap of gawking. If his intention is reflexive of the grotesque consumerist culture, then well-done son. And afterthought, full disclosure,...

Monday, April 23, 2007. You Can See It From Space - Update. Read Part One Here. On Sunday, I went back to the Desplaines River in the Forest Preserves. The wildflowers were really pretty including a few trillium. Decided to check on the river banks on the Maywood side. It's a U-Haul business that backs up against the river. Time to get on the phone with the powers that be and start getting some fences built. At least they can put some signs around. Monday, April 23, 2007. Links to this post. Unhappy in t...
