And actually looking back on it, my PB for a Half Marathon is 1:59:35, so without realising I'd actually been putting on a good pace for myself at this point, but I always knew that I would end up runni...

Friday, 27 April 2012. Marathon Eve - Jane Tomlinson, Expo and a walk around London. It was a luxury I rarely get, being driven on a coach, I’m normally always the one driving somewhere, so I took the opportunity to start re-reading Jane and Mike Tomlinson’s autobiography “The Luxury of Time”. Confessions of a Marathon Runner: The Vitruvian Triathlon
http://jennapickering.blogspot.com/2014/10/the-vitruvian-triathlon.html
Confessions of a Marathon Runner. 10 marathons before I hit 30 = the Marathon Grand Slam Challenge! Wednesday, 22 October 2014. I think I owe my readers an update - it's about time! Things have been really busy lately so not got round to updating as much as I'd have liked, so got quite a lot to catch up on! And had a good mix of standards (i.e. slow ones at the back like me). There was a really odd bit were we had to get out of the water half way round, run (stagger) back through the start line, and then...

Confessions of a Marathon Runner. 10 marathons before I hit 30 = the Marathon Grand Slam Challenge! Friday, 30 May 2014. MK and Liverpool Marathons done! Ok, been a while since my last post, but that's not to say I haven't been busy! I've done 4 marathons so far this spring, and tomorrow is my final one of the streak - the Kent Roadrunner Marathon. It's 17 laps of a cycling race track, I have no idea how I will cope with this but I will be picturing the medal at the end! Since I have a lot of half's comi...

Confessions of a Marathon Runner. 10 marathons before I hit 30 = the Marathon Grand Slam Challenge! Friday, 1 March 2013. Varied week of training and some Tunnel! Having recovered from Saturday's long run, I was able to go out for a recovery run at lunchtime with Matt and do a swim session with Tri-Force in the evening. The swim session was really useful as my technique had picked up a random bad habit with my arms which I quickly sorted out! Great fun and well well, got a few bruises to show for it!

Confessions of a Marathon Runner. 10 marathons before I hit 30 = the Marathon Grand Slam Challenge! Thursday, 17 April 2014. London Marathon 2014 Race Report. Part two - The Race. Got the first train from St Albans, and there were already other runners waiting there! I chatted to a few of them – all very sociable for 6.50am! It was only about 8.30am, so I killed time by sorting my gear out, phoning my parents to see where they planned to watch me, queuing for the loos (very long queues as normal! Plus ev...
Confessions of a Marathon Runner: February 2014
http://jennapickering.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Confessions of a Marathon Runner. 10 marathons before I hit 30 = the Marathon Grand Slam Challenge! Tuesday, 11 February 2014. Last Sunday I did the Watford Half Marathon – which I remembered from last year was very hilly! I hadn’t ever been so nervous before a half marathon, as my long run times had all been at marathon training pace and my tempo runs had not been anywhere near 13.1 miles. So this was definitely going to be a training run, I was not out to race it! I started to drift away from the pacer...

Confessions of a Marathon Runner. 10 marathons before I hit 30 = the Marathon Grand Slam Challenge! Monday, 24 March 2014. I really can’t believe it’s less than two weeks til the Brighton Marathon! I’m looking forward to it so much! I think I’m there, and done everything I can do – the only things that are worrying me slightly is a) what to wear (I always have this worry! And b) Acclimatising to the spring weather since I’ve been training all winter and only now is it getting warm. Anyway, on Sunday 23.

Confessions of a Marathon Runner. 10 marathons before I hit 30 = the Marathon Grand Slam Challenge! Tuesday, 17 June 2014. BHF London to Brighton Bike Ride. On Sunday I took part in one of my favourite cycling events – the London to Brighton Bike Ride organised by the British Heart Foundation. It’s the second year I’ve ridden the 54 mile route, and is a great event, fun and well organised. And joined the queue in front of the 6am starting line. It was already busy! There was a good mixture of riders thou...

Confessions of a Marathon Runner. 10 marathons before I hit 30 = the Marathon Grand Slam Challenge! Thursday, 3 October 2013. Berlin Marathon - Race Recap. Well I'm pleased to say I had a brilliant race at the 40th Berlin Marathon 2013 - and yes, at long last, got a new PB! Really, really pleased! I headed to the Expo on Saturday, to pick up my race number and so a bit of shopping. It was a huge expo, well over twice the size of the VLM expo and totally packed Loads of overseas runners! It has to be done!

turn them all into cider
Cider Cocktails Another Bite of the Apple. How Sweet It Is. February 25, 2016. Every new business wants to differentiate itself, to stand out from the crowd. It is a bit of a mystery, then, why so many websites for smaller cider companies proudly state that they are different because they don’t make sweet cider, unlike the big bad Big Players (you know who they are). So many cideries make … [Read more…]. Posted in: general musings. February 17, 2016. Posted in: general musings. Tagged: Aaron Burr Cider.
