Life's A Dance

Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Mackinac Island Road Trip. To celebrate our one-year anniversary, Jeff and I took a weekend trip to Mackinac Island. We left on Saturday morning (I'm a week behind in sharing this), traveling along the eastern shore of Lake Michigan. We stopped in Grand Rapids and stocked up on Dutch peppermints, then had lunch at a nice little cafe. Spray in the back. We took a walk to explore the island a little, then enjoyed dinner at the Pink Pony. That afternoon we took a carriage tour, ...

Life's A Dance: October 2009

http://allisonpmiller.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Thursday, October 29, 2009. I made sugar cookies today. I mixed the dough last night and cut and baked them tonight. They're pumpkins, for Halloween (Reformation Day? Or would those be cutouts of theses tablets? I missed my nephew, though. We like to cut, bake, and frost sugar cookies together. I am I'm ready to finish the week and I'm looking forward to some time spent with friends. It's late, so I'm out for now. Have a good night! Monday, October 26, 2009. Sunday, October 25, 2009. Life's A Dance: August 2009

http://allisonpmiller.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, August 30, 2009. I had a good weekend. Yesterday was Jeff's bachelor party, so he was gone all day. Pretty long day, but he said he had a good time paintballing and then going downtown. I enjoyed Saturday. I was able to run some errands, go for a run outside (it's been pretty dreary here lately, but when I went out, it was warm but not hot and not very humid, which was great. The title of this post comes from the quote below. I think that stopping to notice the small gifts that God provides i...

Life's A Dance: New Looks

http://allisonpmiller.blogspot.com/2010/04/new-looks.html

Saturday, April 10, 2010. This post is late in coming, at least for the purposes of my mom and sister. The slipcover gave it a bit more life. Out with the old. In with the new! The red is cozy and adds a nice splash of color to the room. Can you tell I like our furniture? We got these couches in early March and I'm still pretty stoked about them. In other news, I may have just worked my last Saturday for a long while. April 15, here we come! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Create your own visitor map!

Life's A Dance: July 2010

http://allisonpmiller.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 13, 2010. Way Behind and an Interesting Day. As the title implies and as evidenced by the timestamp on my previous post, I am way behind in keeping this blog updated. As a quick update, since the new furniture arrived in our home, I/we have:. Had friends over several times to enjoy seating for more than 3. Had our first overnight guests. My brother and sister-in-law. Visited for a weekend in May, and more recently, our friend Mike was in town for a short stay. Visited Six Flags Great America.

Life's A Dance: Thoughts on Fasting

http://allisonpmiller.blogspot.com/2010/04/thoughts-on-fasting.html

Sunday, April 4, 2010. For lent this year, I decided to fast one day a week. I had gotten the idea from my friend Jacque, who was also fasting once a week. I did this on weekdays, and chose to not eat breakfast and lunch, breaking the fast after work, for dinner. Some of my thoughts on this choice:. I really wasn't concerned about health. In general, I'd argue that most adult Americans would benefit from (or at the very least, not be hurt by) eating less food.*. From a spiritual standpoint, there were be...
