Bike Ride: Nova Scotia. Two week bike ride in Nova Scotia with friends. The first week we biked the Cabot Trail, the second week we rode the southern shore. Week 1: Cabot Trail. September 1 - 5. The Cabot trail is frequently listed as one of the top bike rides in the world. It is about 300 kilometers (185 miles) and 3,826 meters (12,550 feet.). Monday: Baddeck to Broad Cove. 100 km / 62 miles). Tuesday: Ingonish Beach to South Beach. Wednesday: South Beach to Cheticamp. Friday: Cheticamp to Baddeck.

One of the reasons I wanted to do the Big Sur Power Walk is so I would have an excuse to go to Monterey and see the aquarium. (I had bicycled past it years ago, and just didn't have the time to go in.) So, Friday, we go there early with pre-bought tickets, and took a look. (My pictures aren't very good, but the aquarium is great! There were plenty of people and groups waiting for the aquarium to open. Huge tank with sharks and lot of other fish. And scuba divers, cleaning up. Splash Zone (from above).

Mom and Dads 50th Wedding Anniversary in Bend, Oregon. First day hike - flat, dusty. Mom and Dad found a good loop after the rest of us had turned around. Second day hike - Allison, Dad, and Walter did an 8-mile hike - flowers, views, water, up to three small lakes.

I'm back home, and photos have been added for all the days. We started at West Yellowstone and biked to Steamboat Springs. For the most part, we stayed at private campgrounds with motels or cabins as options all along the route. We had 10 people and 2 cars, so we had the option of riding as much or as little as we wanted. 52 miles. Yay!
