Lochcarron is a small village (population about 900) in the western Highlands of Scotland, an area known as Wester Ross. It is an ideal centre from which to enjoy the delights of this part of the west coast - the hills and mountains, the sea lochs, the forests and wildlife. 2 miles along the road to North Strome/Ardaneaskan. Tartan is still woven on the old looms and sold in the shop, also sells a wide range of knitwear and tweeds. A ruined castle which is situated on a rocky promontory jutting into Loch Carron, commanding fine views westwards to Skye. 3 miles west of Lochcarron at North Strome.
