All Things Craig

Wednesday, December 5, 2007. Even the Sun Shines. On a dog's ass. I caught a break. After being a waiter for all of about 2 months, I've moved up in the service industry. I have secured a full time bartending position at The Melting Pot in Durham. It may not be considered total fine dining - I'm not exactly sure. But it is a step in the right direction. Ticket prices will be high and I'll be pouring a lot of wine. What else has been going on? Peace, I'm out. Monday, November 26, 2007. I'm beginning to re...

All Things Craig: Let the Transformation Begin

http://allthingscraigfamily.blogspot.com/2007/10/let-transformation-begin.html

Tuesday, October 9, 2007. Let the Transformation Begin. Last night, I bought the first piece of equipment that will help Val and I cross the finish line at next year's Livestrong Challenge - a Star Trac V-Bike. Nonetheless, I will prevail. I'm not training to be competitive or anything. I just want to be able to safely ride the Livestrong Challenge. As time goes on, I will keep posting on my training progress. All Things Craig: October 2007

http://allthingscraigfamily.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, October 17, 2007. Rome Wasn't Built In a Day. My training partner (Val) has been out of town the last couple days. I'm looking forward to her return so I can get in yet another daily exercise routine. Hey, 5 minutes for 300 calories isn't that bad. I gotta get those endurance sessions in anytime I can. That's about it for now. As usual, thanks for visiting. More updates to come. Tuesday, October 9, 2007. Let the Transformation Begin. As time goes on, I will keep posting on my training progress.

All Things Craig: Life is Swell

http://allthingscraigfamily.blogspot.com/2007/11/life-is-swell.html

Monday, November 26, 2007. I'm beginning to realize the benefits of leaving my cush office job and moving into the service industry. Since making my way into the world of "servers", I now see that membership has its advantages. It's about 9:40 am. I'm still in my underwear and wife beater. I'm sitting here thinking about what I'm typing and realizing how sloppy I am right now, however I like the fact that I don't HAVE to do these things yet. Peace, I'm out. All Things Craig: Aging Gracefully

http://allthingscraigfamily.blogspot.com/2007/11/aging-gracefully.html

Friday, November 9, 2007. As I listened to the guys talk about contracts and home purchasing, I found myself thinking "man, I'm glad I don't have worries like that stuff in my life.". Even as I sit here typing this blog, I can't help but feel like Doogie Howser at the end of another episode - closing in on some final thoughts after a moment of epiphany. Perhaps I have lived for so long "not worrying" that I now fail to identify things that I should worry about. What's that pain in my back? Wait, maybe th...

Blue Star: Stages 3-7

http://bluestarracer.blogspot.com/2009/07/stages-3-7.html

Thursday, July 09, 2009. The missed turn was apparently only 200 meters up the hill we had just come down. The road took us 5km back to the top of the descent. After re-riding the technical descent, the turn was much better marked with a stick and several pink ribbons. Maybe sabotage from the unruly locals? Stage 6 - Squamish! I've got some photos to upload later. So check back soon. Oh, next year? Thanks for reading,. What a race, what a ride. Congratulations on perservering and taking 13th.

Tuesday, September 23, 2008. Stage 1: Uphill TT. Spectators had a good view of the Strip from the course. Competitors couldn't enjoy the view because they were staring just ahead of their front tires looking desperately for some areas of traction. Don't have a problem with loose climbs. Wannabe Pros, on the other hand, had to run their bike. My time was about the same as this guy who was spectating on the side of the course. Stage 2: Super D. Rippin' in the desert. Again, semipros were run with the pros&...

Friday, February 29, 2008. In the bike industry, the latest trend is white, white, and more white. As the saying goes, "white is the new black.". I'll be rocking a full white kit at some races this year. It is not only stylish, but also functional on hot days to keep the core temp in check. I'm also building up a Giant XTC C carbon hardtail with full XTR and some Race Face carbon goodies. It is mostly white too! Wednesday, February 27, 2008. Monday, March 31, 2008. The results from NMBS #1 at Fontana are available here. Legs were good and I went top 20 for my first go at the semipro ranks at a national level event. Friday, November 30, 2007. CX is evolving from the obscure to mainstream in the US. The rapidity that is happening is amazing. The New York Times even has an article. Today Who would have thought that riding a short off-road course on unsuspended (read, uncomfortable) bikes for an hour or so in miserable weather would become widely accepted? Whatever the reason, it's all good that more people are getting out on bikes. Gotta love the bike! Monday, November 26, 2007. Some CX at a frustratingly moderate pace.

All Things Crafty

View my complete profile. Saturday, January 3, 2015. Posted by Lauren Christina. Here is my first project of 2015! One of my mentors had a birthday, and I had a bracelet made for her. I thought a plain ole jewelry box would be boring, so I made one! I had just received a Stampin' Up order, and I was dying to use my new stuff. I thought this would be a great time to use it. I hope ya'll enjoyed this super simple project. Have a great day, and I will see ya'll soon. Thursday, January 1, 2015. And I don't w...

It's a closet, not a sauna

It's a closet, not a sauna. Saturday, September 1, 2012. This is the other volcanic island in Lake Nicaragua. There are two of them. The lake is just north of the border with Costa Rica. We saw quite a few of these bicycle driven taxis on the roads in Nicaragua. We also saw lots of horse drawn carts that were used as taxis. Interesting bus with a load of bananas on top. Just because it looks like a school bus doesn't mean that it is really still a school bus. This is just the lake. Links to this post.

Choosing Life...

This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses, against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life".Deuteronomy 30:19-20a. Saturday, August 18, 2012. My little girl is three today. Whoa. Where did the past three years go? Our lives were filled with complete awe and joy over this precious gift that was given to us.
