the stories we tell each other: Home Sweet Home
http://thestorieswetelleachother.blogspot.com/2011/06/home-sweet-home.html
The stories we tell each other. Wednesday, June 1, 2011. For the month of May, I have been home again in my beloved North Carolina. It's been amazing to be home with the folks I love and the work I love here, to be back in the heat after months of travelling in the cold, to have some time and space to process and share what I learned in the first big leg of this journey. This week I hit the road again for the Northeast. Keep an eye out for the next series of dispatches from the road. Elephant in the Dark.

The stories we tell each other. Monday, April 25, 2011. You're pretty dreamy. I won't even hold the whole "getting my car towed and making a late night solo field trip to the city impound lot" thing against you. Especially because that "Minnesota Nice" thing is apparently not only true, but even extends as far as the fabulous people working the night shift at the city impound. In the Heart of the Beast. In less than a week, they'll be putting up the annual MayDay Parade. The stories we tell each other.

The stories we tell each other. Saturday, November 27, 2010. While we strive to figure out a way we can survive these trying times without losing our minds." - Kimya Dawson. Some narratives get privilege over others. Some narratives are coopted and distorted. Some are drowned out altogether. They seethe, submerged. They are no less real, they are no less potent, but they cannot be as powerful when they are hidden. Why is it so hard to organize? Perhaps part of the reason is because we need the stories of...
