Being a Mom: Kindergarten, Week 1
http://jensamom.blogspot.com/2014/08/kindergarten-week-1.html
Saturday, August 23, 2014. Kindergarten, Week 1. The first week of kindergarten went really well. Scott and I both took Paige to school on Monday, walking the four or so blocks to school with Ella and Eli and their dad Matt, which is their first-day tradition. Paige did not cling to us or cry or ask us to stay, which gave me great relief. I had been pretty anxious about it as I packed her little lunch and got her backpack ready to go. The biggest thrill of the first day was the class going on a "Pete the...

Being a Mom: 03/01/2015 - 04/01/2015

Sunday, March 29, 2015. Although Paige's preschool observed the public schools' spring break days during the years she attended there, this year is really the first one she was aware of the existence of spring break. Of course, this year is also the year Scott and I have both changed jobs, leaving us without vacation days currently, so we couldn't enjoy some days off with her. Luckily for Paige, her Nana made spring break special for her. The day Paige, Allison and Becky did crafts there :). Paige had T-...

Being a Mom: Kindergarten: Last Day of School
http://jensamom.blogspot.com/2015/06/kindergarten-last-day-of-school.html
Monday, June 8, 2015. Kindergarten: Last Day of School. The last day of kindergarten fell on a Monday thanks to missed snow days in the winter, and only half of Paige’s class showed up. I don’t understand that; they have all summer to sleep in, hang out, watch TV, or whatever one’s summer activities are. Let them go have a final day at school with their friends. Especially at this age! As I reflect back to how nervous I was. We are so thankful for Mrs. Rogers and for a great school year! A Year of Yes.

Being a Mom: Tennis Camp
http://jensamom.blogspot.com/2015/06/tennis-camp.html
Monday, June 15, 2015. Paige took part in a local tennis camp recently, the first summer activity on her social calendar for Summer 2015. Both Scott and his mother have a love of tennis, and both of them have played it at some point in their lives — Scott in junior high, and Becky through much of her adult life until a knee injury sidelined her. I think it thrilled them both to have Paige take part in the camp. Paige got to carry the flag for the "gray group" during one session. Monday, June 15, 2015.

Being a Mom: Scott's Bike Ride
http://jensamom.blogspot.com/2015/06/scotts-bike-ride.html
Sunday, June 28, 2015. For the third year, Scott recently completed a 50-mile bike race. He took up cycling five or six years ago, and he regularly goes on 25- or 30-mile rides when the weather cooperates. Since the weather warmed up this year, he aims to go on a ride three times a week. This sweet girl gave her Daddy a congratulatory flower after he crossed the finish line. This year, for the first time, Paige and I were waiting for him at the finish line. We were so proud of him! Thursday, February 26, 2015. Snow Day, aka No School. Although we had a beautiful snowfall Sunday afternoon and evening, the roads remained clear, likely helped a great deal by that extra-warm Saturday we had. But the temperature continued to drop, and when snow began falling again Monday afternoon, the roads were slick. However, does not have snow days. (Boo! I’m not ready to stop playing.”. Thursday, February 26, 2015. Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Last night, very late, Scott returned from a work trip.
