Cafe Nay Nay: January 2008
http://cafenaynay.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 28, 2008. Fennel, Fennel, Where is my Fennel? It's hard for me to say that. If you knew me, you wouldn't think that is the case, but it is so true. I am in complete wonder of fennel and of fennel fronds. How great is it that we can actually eat a vegetable with fronds? I know I'm bordering on the silly, but fennel really makes me think of Dr. Seuss. I think he would had a grand time creating a story around fennel fronds - I digress. Rachel, but I typically don't make many of her recipes&#...

Cafe Nay Nay: June 2008
http://cafenaynay.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 30, 2008. It is that time of month again. As the month of June closes, there is no better way to end the month than to present a Daring Bakers Challenge. This month's challenge was an exciting one for me. A critical ingredient was yeast - and I just don't bake much with yeast. I know.shame on me. So, when I first read the recipe, I was very excited. And you know what, yeast isn't that scary! This month was hosted by Kelly of Sass and Veracity. And Ben of What’s Cookin’? 8226; According to ma...

http://cafenaynay.blogspot.com/2009/03/march-madness-homemade-lasagna.html
Saturday, March 28, 2009. March Madness - Homemade Lasagna. The Daring Bakers have struck again. This challenge was new to me so I was very excited. Homemade Lasagna - pasta and all! The March 2009 challenge is hosted by Mary of Beans and Caviar, Melinda of Melbourne Larder and Enza of Io Da Grande. They have chosen Lasagne of Emilia-Romagna from T. By Lynne Rossetto Kasper as the challenge. Having never made pasta from scratch, I was a little intimidated. Thank goodness for YouTube. It was a success.

Cafe Nay Nay: January 2009
http://cafenaynay.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 29, 2009. As the end of January looms, it is yet again that time to share this month's Daring Baker's Challenge. With you. The Daring Bakers were kind enough to present two options: one very sweet and one very savory. I know this may shock all of my faithful readers out there, but I chose the savory route! That's right, no sugar in this recipe. What I will tell you is that it was delicious! This month's challenge is brought to us by Karen of Bake My Day. And Zorra of 1x umruehren bitte.

Cafe Nay Nay: A Spoonful of Sugar
http://cafenaynay.blogspot.com/2008/12/spoonful-of-sugar.html
Sunday, December 7, 2008. A Spoonful of Sugar. Baking with a child can be magical. Not in the enchanted forest way, but in a "fill your heart" happy way. Every little detail of the recipe occurs with presence. Whether it is cracking an egg or sifting the flour, a million questions are asked and hopefully patiently answered. There is total awareness of each step accompanied by thoughtful explanation. I am training another baker, after all! Baking From My Home to Yours. 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 cup ...

http://dianesbrain.blogspot.com/2010/08/summer-2010-can-kiss-it.html
The contents of my brain dumped as often as deemed necessary. Tuesday, August 10, 2010. Summer 2010 - can kiss it! Where have I been and what happened to summer? 8221; really, this is about the most boring conversation ever. Then he says well – it could be the age of these fillings, but you have severe cracks in your molars. I think okay, what does that mean? I have good teeth! I am a good flosser! I can’t wait to get off this crazy roller coaster summer of 2010! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

dianesbrain: Time Delay
http://dianesbrain.blogspot.com/2011/01/time-delay.html
The contents of my brain dumped as often as deemed necessary. Tuesday, January 11, 2011. What do you do with an unexpected day off? You make waffles is what! We have had some unusual winter weather for Savannah as of late which caused my school to go on a 2 hour delay meaning my 8:00 class was canceled and today all I had on the books was an 8:00 class. Ah the joy of winter. Of course I will be grumbling mightily when we have to make up the day later, but for now I am happy. 1700 Miles of Cooking.

The contents of my brain dumped as often as deemed necessary. Thursday, December 24, 2009. The halls are decked, the presents wrapped. Two pans of potatoes prepared and ready to cook in the morning; turkey is in the brine and will be cooked in the morning as well. One more hour and then off to sing at the Candlelight service. I can't believe that Christmas arrived so quickly! Sunday, December 6, 2009. December starts with a bang. December got here rather quickly don't you think? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The contents of my brain dumped as often as deemed necessary. Saturday, April 10, 2010. Originally uploaded by lyricalmezzo. Since finishing the race this morning I have planted my basil for the season, and am going to try growing leaks in a big container - we shall see how that goes. Last year my tomatoes did terribly so I don't know if I am going to try again. I had beautiful leafy plants, but no fruit.I may just stick with the herbs this year. Saturday, April 3, 2010. And I was almost out of Tupelo Ho...

dianesbrain: December 2010
http://dianesbrain.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
The contents of my brain dumped as often as deemed necessary. Wednesday, December 15, 2010. Here is a breakdown of some of the amazing things I get to witness:. Despite a year of great personal stress, one friend of mine has completed 3 half marathons, managed to have more grace than just about anyone could expect and is planning to do a full marathon next year. I know I can’t quite keep up that pace, but I am so looking forward to another year of knowing her and watching what comes next. My academic gen...
