News from the Nest: July 2011
http://fromthenestblog.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 25, 2011. Well, I was able to start on my Aunt Luanne's quilt this last weekend. We had a quilting get-together in Ferndale on Friday and Saturday. Had a great time and was able to get going on the quilt. Here's what I did:. First, cut 8 - 10 inch squares from each of the 5 colors of maroon she picked. Next cut 40- 10 inch squares of the gray background fabric. Then, you have to draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of all 40 squares. Next, sew a 1/4" on each side of the drawn line. Anyway,...

It's not going as fast as I had wanted, but I've been out of town the last two weekends and busy with work and getting ready for Christmas! View ...

She Sews, She Knows...: April 2009
http://shesewssheknows.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 26, 2009. Today we wrapped up our Scottie Dog Quilts Mystery Quilting Retreat. The retreat brings people together from all over the country and all over the county. We have been doing them for longer than we've had the shop and we love them! They are a blast and there is just something about the weekend that makes me super happy and excited. It might be all the people, it might be all the sewing, or it might be all the amazing food. It might even be all of them put together. She always come...

http://shesewssheknows.blogspot.com/2012/06/ive-been-keeping-secret.html
Wednesday, June 6, 2012. I've been keeping a secret! I've been keeping a pretty big secret, and can finally let the cat out of the bag! Many, many months ago, I got a call from Jennifer Keltner, the editor of Better Homes and Gardens Quilt Sampler Magazine. It was the call I always wanted to get! Broadway folks want to win a Tony, writers dream of a Pulitzer, Film people look for the Oscar, and Quilt Shop/Sewing Center owners? There were lots of details! We just sat back and watched while the photographe...
