Knowledge itself is power. The Water Kept Rising. The water kept rising. First it was coming under the door, then we realized it was making our chairs float, so we crawled onto the kitchen counters, and suddenly realized that it was rising above our kitchen counter. We had to swim for our lives. We floated out of the house on a piece of plywood ripped from our home by the wind. The watermarks came all the way up to my second-story bedroom ceiling. It took us 10 hours to evacuate. Can we just not talk?

Knowledge itself is power. Cajun shrimp and money troubles. I finally broke down and painted my nails as well as filing my taxes. I filed my 1040 on Turbo Tax for free. Because it’s the most simplified version the government has to offer; the tax gods tell me I should get a return direct deposited some time before March 27, so that’s pretty cool.
