Welcome to The Almonry Heritage and Tourist Information Centre! We are open from 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and from 2pm to 5pm on Sundays (March to October only). Last entry to the museum is 4pm. Children Under 11 years old. Students (in full time education). Each ticket is valid for 1 year and entitles the bearer to free entry for the rest of that period.

This 14th Century building was once home to the Almoner of the Benedictine Abbey that was founded at Evesham in the 8th Century. Following the closure of the Abbey by Henry VIII, the Almonry became the personal home of the last Abbot, Philip Ballard, whilst the rest of the Abbey buildings were sold to Sir Philip Hoby who arranged for the quarrying of the stone.

A series of events, services and activities took place to mark the anniversary over a two week period between 1 and 15 August 2015. These activities remembered the loss of life; celebrated the great work and legacy de Montfort left behind and re-enacted a part of British medieval history. The medieval chronicler Matthew Paris portrayed Simon as a charismatic and complex figure: forthright and enigmatic, chivalrous yet at times dictatorial, an able military strategist who cultivated the friendship and guidance of the foremost religious leaders of his time.
