Sims-Almont North Dakota

On The Old Red Trail'. Sims originated in 1880 at a Northern Pacific Railroad siding, was used for water and coal and called Bly's Mine. The town was surveyed in 1883 by the NPRR and renamed Sims. The only buildings that remain standing are the Sims Scandinavian Lutheran Church and the parsonage. The Sims congregation has been active since it was organized in 1882. Galpin Church and Area in Winter. A few weeks back, Bear and I went out in the deep freeze so I could get some shots of the Galpin church in winter. Just as charming as ever, except for unfortunately the rich people and their giant country houses are invading. There is a big house very close to the church, completely interrupting the peaceful prairie atmosphere it used to have. Oh well.
