http://godivaswardrobe.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
My humble collection of costumes - historic clothing all through the ages as well as not strictly period dresses. Tuesday, 9 June 2015. You start doing weird things once you decide to really equip your character with all things necessary for that time! Material was bought at various stores and bead shops whenever I found something nice, additional elements (like wire, hooks, tools, more beads) are also available online in case you don't have any craft stores around. Godiva's Wardrobe: Elven ranger's outfit
http://godivaswardrobe.blogspot.com/2015/07/elven-rangers-outfit.html
My humble collection of costumes - historic clothing all through the ages as well as not strictly period dresses. Tuesday, 21 July 2015. Is based on leaf-shapes in general. The basis aren't front and back pieces, but two leaf-shaped side-pieces that overlap at the back where they are sewn together, and at the front where they close with braid fastenings. I even managed to make a cut-on standing collar just so. Amazing what I'm capable of once I'm stressed and can't afford time for thinking! The sleeves a...

Godiva's Wardrobe: August 2015
http://godivaswardrobe.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
My humble collection of costumes - historic clothing all through the ages as well as not strictly period dresses. Wednesday, 26 August 2015. After so many heavy dresses for historic balls, I wanted one for regular balls in which I can dance the whole night through without restrictions. What else to use but a high-waisted regency shape? I merged my own ideas with a dress I saw in a shop window and used up some fabric I already had. Wednesday, 19 August 2015. Tuesday, 4 August 2015. The whole pattern follo...

Godiva's Wardrobe: On starching fabric
http://godivaswardrobe.blogspot.com/2015/07/on-starching-fabric.html
My humble collection of costumes - historic clothing all through the ages as well as not strictly period dresses. Sunday, 5 July 2015. I never knew it would be that practical! 1 litre of water. Of starch (NOT tablespoons; you'll end up with a bowl of goo). PS: It even worked very well to get the crispness back into tulle that I had had to wash, as well as into dupion silk that had turned a little limp after washing. And if you use too much starch, you'll be able to design an origami dress. ;).

Godiva's Wardrobe: August 2014
http://godivaswardrobe.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
My humble collection of costumes - historic clothing all through the ages as well as not strictly period dresses. Wednesday, 20 August 2014. New pair of hanging pockets. If another baroque reenactment is coming up and you have nothing but non-period stuff to hand-sew, what do you do? Of course, you create another absolutely unnecessary project for yourself - like embroidering yet another pair of pockets that noone but your most intimate friends will ever see! Tuesday, 19 August 2014. The body part is mod...

Godiva's Wardrobe: April 2014
http://godivaswardrobe.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
My humble collection of costumes - historic clothing all through the ages as well as not strictly period dresses. Tuesday, 29 April 2014. 1880s day dress of white wool. At last a soon-to-be-finished project! I've worn it a couple of times already - thanks again to the inventor of safety-pins! It's made of cream-white wool with diagonally woven-in stripes which invite the avid seamstress to toy with the pattern. The front of the overskirt. D The sleeves are just a little puffed, as was fashionable before ...

Godiva's Wardrobe: Regency ball gown
http://godivaswardrobe.blogspot.com/2015/08/regency-ball-gown.html
My humble collection of costumes - historic clothing all through the ages as well as not strictly period dresses. Tuesday, 4 August 2015. Well, I know, I already have one. But does that really matter if you find some nice fabric? As the seam is embroidered I wasn't able to make length adjustments here. But a train was essential, so I had to adjust the length by curving the underbust seam. It pushes more fabric to the front, but with some adjustments in the folding it's ok. 18 August 2015 at 23:37.

Godiva's Wardrobe: June 2013
http://godivaswardrobe.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
My humble collection of costumes - historic clothing all through the ages as well as not strictly period dresses. Sunday, 30 June 2013. Another quick one to use up fabric that has been in my store for at least five years. I was just waiting for the perfect pattern, because I wanted a very low décolletage - which requires a clever solution for the understructure to go without any bra or modern tricks. Godiva's Wardrobe: January 2014
http://godivaswardrobe.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
My humble collection of costumes - historic clothing all through the ages as well as not strictly period dresses. Monday, 27 January 2014. Baroque gown of midnight-blue silk with embroidery. Yes, seems I'm going completely round the bend now, but take two nutters of the same kind and you'll end up with a baroque couple in matching, hand-embroidered costumes. So actually this isn't my fault. At least not entirely ;). And then I could go really crazy and do the little bouquets. Here's a close-up of one...
