The Erie Canal was 363 miles long joining Lake Erie and the Hudson River which flows to the Atlantic through New York City. It began as a canal at least 40 feet wide by 4 feet deep. It included 18 aqueducts to carry the canal over ravines and rivers, and 83 locks, with a rise of 568 feet from the Hudson River to Lake Erie. What will be the next highway?
