The Alpha SF/F/H Workshop for Young Writers. Is a workshop for writers ages 14-19 who are passionate about writing science fiction, fantasy, and horror. Young writers from as far away as New Zealand have traveled to Greensburg, PA for ten days of intensive writing experience with guest authors such as Tamora Pierce, Ellen Kushner, and Holly Black. 2012 Fundraiser – Alpha, the Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Workshop for Young Writers

Alumni Publications & Awards. On January 13-20, 2012, Alpha alumni held an auction fundraiser at alphafundraiser.wordpress.com. The auction raised just over $2000, and other donations brought the total amount raised to approximately $3700. Also, nearly twenty Alpha alumni worked to create the second annual alumni anthology of flash fiction. The anthology, which contains 14 illustrated short stories, will be given as a thank-you gift to everyone who donates to the workshop in 2012. Donate here.
