Prof Peter Palffy is the director of the NLCMF as well as Associate Director of the Liquid Crystal Institute. His research interest include: LCE, negative index materials, mirrorless lasing in LC, failure and breakdown. Is the Director of the LCI, and his research interests include topological and structural defects; electrooptic effects; surface phenomena; lyotropic systems. Bahman Taheri is president and one of the founders of Alpha Micron. And is also an adjunct professor to the LCI.
