The Alpine Apron and who we are
http://www.alpineapron.com/ingredients.html
Welcome to the Alpine Apron. If you are wondering what the concept is behind my company, lend me a minute of your time and I will explain to you what it is I do. The tools you bring to work may involve a briefcase, laptop, smartly shined dress shoes or even a year supply of pantyhose. Mine is one freshly washed apron, a sharp knife set, collection of measuring spoons, roughly 26 banana boxes of great food and one reliable helicopteroh and my dog I never leave home without Tua. So what is it I do you ask?

Real and Wild Light: October 2010
http://realandwildlight.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Peru photos come alive. Southern Battle Range climbing fun. In the last week of July Suzanne Corno, Sonia Szombathy and myself decided it was time for a climbing trip in the Selkirks. So we did, we went remote and into the southern Battle Range. Laidlaw creek to be exact. We had an awesome chance to get placed by a helicopter versus a 3 day boggle of weeds and alder to get where we wanted. Reflection in small lake, looking at the south side of Mt Thomas in the Westfall Group. The rock was good, Sonja and...

http://realandwildlight.blogspot.com/2011/01/heli-skiing-starts.html
Peru photos come alive. Heli Skiing in the Monashees starts finally! We have just finished our Guides Training and Staff setup for the 2011 season. Monashees was the host lodge for this winters for 2 of the 3 guides trainings sessions. Each year all the ski guides and area managers get together to our minds back in the snow and skiing programs for CMH. This includes going out skiing in the the Monashee terrain which is a delight to do. Dave Schwan skiing on Christmas in Soards Creek, Monashees.

Real and Wild Light: November 2010
http://realandwildlight.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Peru photos come alive. A few of our feathered friends from this year. This years birding season! Reflecting back on this year, I thought let's have look at some of this years birds that wandered into the crosshairs of the big lenses. One of spring's first birds is the Red winged blackbird, early morning squawker in the marsh. Shortly after that are their relatives the Yellow headed Blackbird which I still have not gotten an image of. Osprey are also numerous in the Columbia Valley, as one drives along H...

Real and Wild Light: September 2010

Peru photos come alive. ACC General Mountaineering Camp in Battle Brook. The GMC as it is known in the mountain community is the longest standing mountaineering camp of any alpine club in the world. The camp started in 1906 and has been the icon of the Alpine Club of Canada for 104 years. That is some wicked history there! The weather was thick on the the 1st day and stayed for 2 more after that as well, making another GMC first for delayed start by 2.5 days. This made for winter type mountaineering.

Real and Wild Light: May 2010
http://realandwildlight.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Peru photos come alive. The ski touring wrap up. It is April and the snow is now on its way to the ocean as the warm spring weather comes in. We had a very interesting ski season this year. While this did not stop us from skiing as much as we could safely, it did restrict the ski programs everywhere. So in turn we climbed a few peaks when conditions were less than optimal, and in doing so gave us a chance to be in the mountains and enjoy new sights. But it was bigger than I planned on! Real and Wild Light: Haffner Creek Ice Climbing.
http://realandwildlight.blogspot.com/2011/01/haffner-creek-ice-climbing.html
Peru photos come alive. Haffner Creek Ice Climbing. The winter not only brings great skiing to our mountains here in BC and Alberta. For many years I have been wrapped up in the skiing of winter. Heli-skiing and ski touring saw most of my time. Climbing has been a back ground to many Mountain Guides and Ski Guides. I have neglected the development of intense mixed ice and rock climbing in the last 20 years. Yup I sure missed that period, I now feel my age and distance to the sport of Ice Climbing. All co...
