Update July 28 - Climbing Accident in Waddington Range. British Columbia, July 28 - At approximately 3:00 pm PT on Sunday, July 24, Laurel Fan (34) a loved member of the Alpine Mentors AAC Pacific Northwest Program fell while ascending Serra 2 in the Waddington Range of British Columbia. Recovery efforts have been suspended. Local rescue teams, military, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and Global Rescue were notified. As of July 28, RCMP has suspended recovery efforts. Wednesday, March 27, 2013. Temperatures cooled off so Rob Smith and I decided to go for another try on Cryophobia. Kris Irwin was unable to join us this time so we were without a 4x4 vehicle capable of giving us a short approach by driving up the Waiparous Creek road. So we drove in my Subaru to the North Ghost and made the long three hour trudge to the climb. Hydrophobia is the big ice climb on the left. Monday, January 28, 2013. Union Glacier Camp and Mt Rossman. The logistics of running the camp looked complicated given that the ALE staff had to to feed, house, and transport clients participating in all these activities.
