Life is a tale told: February 2012
http://lifeisataletold.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Life is a tale told. Thursday, February 16, 2012. Still trying to figure out Afghanistan; crazy busy with schools, fellowship applications, job applications, family stuff, money troubles, and life in general. So instead, here is another photo of the desert. It's an appropriate metaphor for my life right now, anyway. Thursday, February 2, 2012. Right now I'm just happy to be back on track! A Pie in the Skye: Pretty Polished
http://apieintheskye.blogspot.com/2012/01/pretty-polished.html
A Pie in the Skye. January 26, 2012. Navigate Her, A Crewed Interest, To Buy or Not to Buy, Tour de Finance, Ole Caliente and Orange, It's Obvious! While I'm itching to wear warm weather clothing (bright skinnies and neon wedges are currently topping my list! New nail polish shades have also been catching my eye as of late. Devotee, I'm loving their spring line, 'Navigate Her,' especially the punchy pink 'Tour de Finance.' The best part about this new lineup of 6 pretty hues? January 26, 2012 at 7:32 PM.

A Pie in the Skye: If You're Going to San Francisco..
http://apieintheskye.blogspot.com/2012/02/if-youre-going-to-san-francisco.html
A Pie in the Skye. February 1, 2012. If You're Going to San Francisco. I'm busy packing for an early flight (and watching Dance Moms shh! But I wanted to check in to let you know I'm alive. I have three goals for this very short trip and it's not surprising at all that two of them have to do with food! 1 Ride a trolley. 2 Get a Red Velvet cupcake at Sprinkles (I've craved them since I spent a semester in LA 5 years ago! 3 Get a protein style burger and animal style fries at In N Out. C'est moi, Skye!

A Pie in the Skye: Retail Therapy
http://apieintheskye.blogspot.com/2012/02/retail-therapy.html
A Pie in the Skye. February 6, 2012. Accomplishing my three San Fran goals was a big FAIL. I did, however, manage to snap this pretty pic of the Bay Bridge. And had a delicious breakfast at Perry's by the water. Better luck next time, I suppose. Today's post focuses on one of my favorite things: shopping. My burning question is this: when looking to get your retail fix online, which e-tailers are go-tos for affordable, of-the-moment styles? I typically gravitate towards Lulu's. And Stitched and Adorned.

Life is a tale told: January 2013
http://lifeisataletold.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Life is a tale told. Monday, January 14, 2013. Back from outer space. Clearly I have been sadly neglecting this blog. But in my defense, well, there's been a lot going on. Which really means that I'll start neglecting it yet again as soon as this post is published. As I sit here listening to surprisingly flamenco-like and brilliant Malian music yet utterly unmotivated to get any actual work done, I figure that I might as well blog some updates of my life as it stands right now. Fortunately as a much-need...

Life is a tale told: September 2013
http://lifeisataletold.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Life is a tale told. Wednesday, September 25, 2013. I really miss all my kids, and the school, and Kabul, and basically everything about Afghanistan. Well, okay, maybe not every. I love still being able to talk to my kids on Skype, and that they occasionally still call me for help, and that several of them called me on my birthday to wish me a happy birthday. One of the kind-of-annoying things that always. Say, "Oh, what about the Peace Corps? Have you looked in to that? Friday, September 6, 2013. But I ...

Life is a tale told: My Favorite Experience in Kabul
http://lifeisataletold.blogspot.com/2012/09/my-favorite-experience-in-kabul.html
Life is a tale told. Sunday, September 30, 2012. My Favorite Experience in Kabul. Other than just because I absolutely love Maryam's family, this was my favorite experience from the summer because it was the only time I was able to spend time with a regular Afghan family and see how they live, what daily life is like. I treasure that experience because I'm well aware that it is one most foreigners would never get in Afghanistan, even in Kabul. Seriously, how could you not love this kid? This blog is an o...

Life is a tale told: June 2013
http://lifeisataletold.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Life is a tale told. Saturday, June 29, 2013. Yet again I come back to this blog only after realizing just how long it's been since I've updated. The biggest development is that I've temporarily put school on hold while I try to find a job, save up enough money, and hopefully transfer to another school/program. However, that fact also hasn't stopped me from dreaming about what would happen if I did. And the best part is, those contracts come with five vacations a year! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). This bl...
