Taking Care of Mom. Sunday, September 26, 2010. Not a pretty picture. Her mouth is an open wound. A raw nerve and anything that touches it causes her pain. Anything. Food Liquid. Air. The very breath she takes can cause excruciating pain on the open nerve endings in her mouth. I am not the stoic German that my mother is. I don’t enjoy this suffering.
