Fairy Godmother Dust: August 2013
http://fairygodmotherdust.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 29, 2013. I could point to lots of reasons I haven't consistently posted anything in months. All of them would be true. All are valid reasons. I write lots of posts in my mind and they never reach the page. I do write every day. Sometimes my writing is done through correspondence with friends. Sometimes writing is just for me in my journal. Today, however, my I nner Muse. Is writing. She is also saying, "Put it in print, Lori.". My muse is kind-hearted and gentle. Or my reading glasses.

Fairy Godmother Dust: January 2014
http://fairygodmotherdust.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 26, 2014. Who will Join Me? Full Disclosure before I start writing. I'm just shy of 49. I've colored my hair to hide grey since my late twenties. I use e-salon now and am on auto-pay each month. It's my own formula sent directly to my door. If my hair wouldn't fall out, I'd color every 3 weeks to hide that I'm 100% grey. I'm not sure when or if I'll stop coloring. I pay a private trainer to make myself work out. As long as I am able to afford this service, I will pay for it. I was very, v...

Walking With Grace and Gratitude. Here and Back Again. The Circus Comes to Town. October 6, 2012. Elephants are connected creatures. They thrive in community. They remember each other. They love. They love other elephants and they love other animals. They have compassion. They show joy and sadness. This entry was posted in Grief. Here and Back Again. I can't wait to read your comment! My Church | Walking With Grace & Gratitude

Walking With Grace and Gratitude. Acrostic for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. January 18, 2014. My church is a hospital. A place of life and death. The deacons and priests are servants of health. Moving patient to patient. Serving up hope, grace, grief. While others tend bodies, I tend souls. My church is a clinic. Doling out bandages and advice. No one stays for long, coming and going as needed. I am both patient and practitioner. My church is a hospice. Nursing facility, private home. Blogging...

What gives? | Walking With Grace & Gratitude

Walking With Grace and Gratitude. The Circus Comes to Town. Acrostic for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity →. December 7, 2013. One thing in particular caught my attention as the two women spoke, it had to do with forgiveness. A caller named Laura had a question for Dr. Angelou that went like this:. First of all, Maya Angelou, I can’t believe I’m talking to you. I’ve loved you since I was a 10-year-old little girl in St. Louis and you are what made me love poetry. Thank you so much. Blogging, in pro...

Javastars Place: Frances, Better Known as "Ma"
http://javastarsworld.blogspot.com/2011/07/frances-better-known-as-ma.html
Monday, July 11, 2011. Frances, Better Known as "Ma". I was cleaning out some storage tubs that were in need of going through, and I came across this poem. I remember clearly when I found it years ago, and how I felt when I read it. As I sit alone at night it's late. I think of all the things I love and hate. What a shame and what a waste. That this world lives in such haste. I do not know what the future holds. For the strong-willed and bold. But for the gentle, mild and meek. Frances, better known as Ma.

Saturday, January 26, 2013. Just Swallow the Medicine (Expletive deleted)! Without her permission or knowledge, I'm learning about a side of myself that I'm not particularly fond of. I can't call it a blind side. I've known about it for a long time. Seeing it in another person and facing my reaction, that's where the story begins. I've nominated myself for WMOTY so many times these last 3 weeks, I've made enough noise that the people are just gonna give. It to me. The plaque on my trophy will read:.

Fairy Godmother Dust: December 2012

Sunday, December 30, 2012. I just published this on Gay's blog. December 30, 2012. Gay continues to steadily improve and will join us again in blog-world next week. In a conversation today, she referred to her time away from writing as a vacation. If a vacation is what she had, sign me up for something else! You how many women I've heard speak those same words.". She cried. I've learned that one can never assume why a person is crying. Tears are complicated- sad, angry, confused, often unearthing...I int...
