Dreaming in Metaphors: Travelin'
http://meggo330.blogspot.com/2013/02/travelin.html
Sunday, February 10, 2013. It's been an eventful start to the year! In the past month and a half, I've spent more time out of town than I've spent in Atlanta. My first trip was to Philadelphia see this guy :). We went hiking, ate Canolis, went to the Barcade, cooked some delicious ravioli from scratch, and even made a short trip to Baltimore (and saw Nikki and Will! My next trip was a week later to Harper, Kansas to see the Gerber family. And then I came back to these guys :). February 12, 2013 at 8:26 AM.

Dreaming in Metaphors: Community {Center}
http://meggo330.blogspot.com/2013/09/community-center.html
Thursday, September 5, 2013. A few days ago as I was walking to work, I noticed a woman opening the door of the old barbershop across from the Center. The little orange building had been empty for almost a year, after the woman who previously owned the shop (and lived in the back) decided to move her business to a new location. When I am at the Stewart Center, immersed in my community there, the words "low income" rarely cross my mind. While the term may be accurate in describing the socio-economic s...

Parrēsia: FREE AND FEARLESS CONFIDENCE. CHEERFUL COURAGE. BOLDNESS. ASSURANCE. Thursday, March 28, 2013. What keeps us in the darkness? How do we get out? THE WORD OF THE LORD, PRAISE BE TO GOD. (PSALM 56:10). Though he had done so many signs before them, they still did not believe in him, so that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:. 8220;Lord, who has believed what he heard from us,. And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? 8220;He has blinded their eyes. I've been thinki...

Dreaming in Metaphors: Without Condition
http://meggo330.blogspot.com/2013/03/without-condition.html
Sunday, March 17, 2013. Today at Mercy (mercyonline.net) we talked about Generosity. Charity can be humiliating and can destroy human dignity when given inappropriately. Charity can perpetuate the cycle of poverty, rather than put an end to it. People often take love-filled gifts and use them for unloving purposes. (Like giving a homeless person cash, which they then use to buy drugs or alcohol.) Why didn’t Jesus discuss this? Loving without Condition is a hard concept for me to swallow. While my thought...
