Greetings from Lymeland: January 2011
http://greetingsfromlymeland.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 28, 2011. Sitting on the porch this morning, my neck and shoulders stiff and painful from the spiros and too little sleep, I started to complain to myself. Grumbling, shifting and settling, looking for a comfortable position in my chair and finding none, I berated my recent party-animal lifestyle. The thing is, getting stuck down there shouldn’t have happened once let alone twice. I’m not a stupid woman, but I can be astoundingly dumb sometimes. And stubborn. Rathe...Sadly, I am left with...

Greetings from Lymeland: Spring Fever
http://greetingsfromlymeland.blogspot.com/2012/03/spring-fever.html
Tuesday, March 20, 2012. But I’m making some headway with cognition and stamina. I’m still greatly fatigued, but when I’m up I can stay up for a little longer. I can concentrate long enough to finish a sentence, if I’m typing. Writing longhand is a gamble, and if anyone interrupts while I’m speaking, the thought evaporates like steam in the inferno of my Lyme-rage and frustration. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Greetings from Lymeland: August 2013
http://greetingsfromlymeland.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 29, 2013. Saw this link tweeted by @underourskin. Http:/ www.nhregister.com/opinion/20130825/dr-katz-of-lyme-disease-and-lemonade. I was struck by the balanced perspective (all things considered). I think the author touches on an important aspect of or barrier to effective treatment: trust. It is hard to piece it all together into one picture. It is even harder to convince Lyme-illiterate doctors that we are not crazy, lying, whining or exaggerating. It isn't our fault that there aren't ...

Greetings from Lymeland: February 2012
http://greetingsfromlymeland.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 29, 2012. As I lay in the dark four hours ago, I couldn’t help notice how quickly the dog settled back down, particularly compared to myself. My wife beside me hardly stirred, told the dog to go back to her bed, and resumed her sonorous sleep as if nothing had happened. Jealousy is an ugly thing, especially in the predawn hours. Definitely just like all the other days. Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Tuesday, February 21, 2012. My morning routine was significantly interrupted a couple of ...

Today I Feel Exceptionally....: stalled
http://todayifeelexceptionally.blogspot.com/2015/02/stalled.html
Today I Feel Exceptionally. Wednesday, February 11, 2015. It's been a while. But the good news is, I'm no longer on IV antibiotics! I've graduated to orals. I've still got my trusty line in, though and I'm using it for Lactated Ringer's solution to help flush out and detoxify. I already have a month of oral antibiotics under my belt and I'm underway with my second month. And like a stalled car just trying to start I feel like I'm screaming at my immune system to please kick in and start! I'm thankful my ...

Today I Feel Exceptionally....: stunned
http://todayifeelexceptionally.blogspot.com/2014/11/stunned.html
Today I Feel Exceptionally. Tuesday, November 25, 2014. I'm not there yet. Not there, almost there, but - NOT there. In fact, I'm so-close-but-not-quite-there. That I have to do ANOTHER month of IV. Dr. J misinformed us last appointment that I was done. OH how sad I am. THAT is why I feel a bit sucker-punched. More time to infuse are in my future. I might still be grieving a bit). But will the Lord sustain us through this and however much longer we have to go through IV antibiotics? I prayerfully hope th...

Today I Feel Exceptionally....: My Lyme Story
http://todayifeelexceptionally.blogspot.com/p/my-lyme-story.html
Today I Feel Exceptionally. If you want to get to the diagnosis part without the history just scroll down to. Make a point of meeting there for a weekend each summer to camp, hike, and enjoy God's creation. Well, a few years or so passed. I had some tummy troubles (but what kid doesn't? And I wasn't really deterred from kidlife much by it. So she tried not to worry about it. And from what she knew about Lyme disease back then, the time frame had passed on which to worry about it being the cause. In June ...

In The Lyme Fight: 7/10/11 - 7/17/11
http://inthelymefight.blogspot.com/2011_07_10_archive.html
Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Re-Post from Adventures in Lymeland: “Burning Down the House”. Some of the most difficult symptoms from Advanced Lyme are the neurological ones. Alyson from Adventures in Lymeland depicts it perfectly in her post "Burning Down the House.". I often leave a burner on or walk away and totally forget I was cooking anything! Hopefully we won't burn down our homes, but it is a scary and very real possibility! Thanks for sharing Alyson. I love the pictures on the hands. Genius! Happy #Fr...
