Monday, May 28, 2012. Here they are: six Irish Terrier puppies, six weeks old, with lovely Mama Red. The girls were thrilled to be in the middle of a pile of puppies! At one point, cousin Cora had all six of them crawling over her! It is amazing how the puppies have grown over the past two weeks since we last visited. Sunday, September 30, 2012. Harry has a new cousin: Aunt Debbie and Uncle Tim's fuzzy, 8-week-old Bernese Mountain Dog pup—Maddy. The girls fell in love immediately upon meeting her. Amabel wanted to take her home, of course. That face! Although Maddy looks bigger than Harry in this picture, she really isn't (she is 'only' 15 pounds compared to his 25). B. Ut how long will it be, I wonder, until she surpasses him? When both dogs are full grown, Maddy will be three times his size! Labels: In the Kitchen.

Monday, January 28, 2013. Ice Skating : Finding Balance. There was a layer of snow on top of the ice rink on Friday morning. I shoveled some off to make a slick patch for Amabel and then realized that Ellen was much happier "skating" on a couple of inches of fluff. I left more than half the rink covered with a layer of padding for Ellen. She grinned at me and toddled off on her own. When should I choose. To put her (and/or myself) deliberately into new and (at least initially) uncomfortable surroundings?

As I was cutting some sticks in our garage, I was reminded of similar Santas we had in our home growing up, a few quick cuts later and I was on my way to my own set.
