The Founders of AMALID. AMALID was founded in 1999 by Rami E. Cremesti (Born in Lebanon) to honor a beautiful woman named Amalid living in Los Angeles back in the day. The idea of the site was to bring the Middle East and the West closer together through the sharing of art, culture and knowledge. Sarge Younan (of Lebanese descent) was a major contributor to AMALID's Prominent Lebanese Americans page and is a passionate Lebanese American.
