I set my things down in my hotel room and went out to find some groceries to get me through the next few days, and while I was out, I found my home away from home, just the right thing to cure that yearning for North Carolina. a thrift store! Thursday, January 1, 2009. Day 6 - Canyons to Cadillacs. Another note. The weather so far has been perfect. We haven't needed more than a light jacket, and the days have been bright and sunny. However, the snow is on its way and has been just behind us, helping to push us further west. Monday, January 12, 2009. Day 16: Grand Canyon. Everyone headed straight for the champagne picnic lunch that our pilot was setting out for us. But we only had thirty minutes on the canyon floor, so I went exploring, saving only about five minutes for my food and bubbly. I found a few interesting rocks to add to my collection, inspected some cacti, and absorbed so much natural beauty. Though no hiking was done, it sounds like a pretty amazing canyon experience. and like you said, you'll be back.
